Not just from her current suffering but also from potential, and given her state rather likely, permanent damage.
Rarity wasn’t aware of the severity of her condition and just tucked her in instead of bringing her to the hospital.
So Sweetie B. was really lucky the new arrival turned out to be a flirty top tier mage.
