Description
The parent company for Atomic Cartoons released a PDF on their website showing off their current pipeline for upcoming project releases, and included a whole MOUNTAIN of pony, with “4x44 mins, 23x22 mins” listed for content. Unfortunately we can only speculate what exactly that means. We know we are supposed to get one 44 minute special some time before the series later in the year, but we didn’t expect 4 of them! Hopefully more information becomes available over time, but for now we can at least expect to get a whopping 682 minutes of generation 5 ponies in the future. Considering how successful the G5 movie seems to be, it’s not surprising at all that they are going all out this time!We will let you all know more as it’s revealed. For now, just expect lots of Sunny, Izzy, Hitch, Pipp, and Zipp in the future! Thanks to VcSaJen for the heads up.
Oh, that’s excellent news! I’m much relieved. 😮💨
They’re hiring CG groom specialist, so they’re definitely planning to have proper manes and stuff, not plastic hair.
Yeah, Hasbro has owned Boulder since 2016, and this year they moved to own it through eOne as a subsidiary of a subsidiary
Oh, they do? I had thought they owned eOne, but that Boulder was an independent contractor. In that case, it might be easier (though not entirely free from red tape) to loan assets to another company, provided the technology is at all compatible.
Pretty sure Hasbro would own them as they commissioned it all.
Also Hasbro owns Boulder
Edited
That would be great, but might not be possible, either for technical reasons or for legal copyright reasons.
I mean isn’t the main reason to have a pilot movie To have better looking models for the show?
Yes, yes. I counted the specials as episodes but no one currently knows if they’ll be considered episodes.
23 episodes actually.
Honestly, as long as they won’t go DQ or Video Brinquedo, I’m sure Atomic Cartoons will do a great job.
Ahahhahahah, I mean, in the context of those toys, those are hard plastic toys after all. Aren’t some MLP toys at least in some part brushable?
Yeah, I’d say that it was a deliberate choice, considering they look like shows made for a very young audience. All of them have a “plasticky” look. Probably imitating toys.
It depends on how much this version of the franchise can get popular so Hasbro can make money out of it. Sometimes even if its popular, Hasbro kills it so they can make new toys.
No… it wouldn’t, BUT, MLP FIM itself had about… four seasons worth of original content. The rest was slice of life and rehashes, not that that’s a bad thing, if one likes the characters and setting.
Okay…by that logic I ask you this: what do you do when the 2 seasons run out? Do you just kill off MLP then and there? I don’t think that would be a wise move, my friend.
Well, as far as I see it, there’s about two seasons worth of original story in G5.
