I’ll have to go with DeusExEquus’s comic for the amount of detail he’s putting into it. Instant gratification nod goes to the Chrysalis comic scene though. (I’m not saying instant gratification is good or bad, just that it was my feeling when I saw the picture.)

My only trouble with DeusExEquus’ story is Chrysalis. Was it necessary to victimize her when the dilemma of collecting love already existed? She didn’t need the presence of one-dimensional villains to justify herself.

It could be a story of how Chrysalis tried to find alternatives to get love but they all failed, so she just kept conquering. So keep it simple, a queen who lost all hope, someone easy to redeem. Not an unnecessary historical debt.

Meanwhile, Cozy barely exist in IDW, so, yeah, DeusExEquus > IDW.
And Tirek… well, DeusExEquus’ fic is just an expanison of what we see in the IDW one shot
