Agreed.
I think we moved far away from talking about this image at this point.
Yes, I know. To be honest, I have done some thinking about this. I think the reason I do it is for the following reasons;
I think you’re trying to “correct” people who aren’t willing to listen. If you push them, they will stand their grounds. Think of the Old Testament where the pharaoh of Egypt refused to let the Hebrews go until it cost him his son, and even that tried to kill them afterwards. That is the type of people you’re trying to change.
OK, but what about people NEEDING, especially now, to live in a constant reality, negative though it may be, as well as trying to make a HUGE demarcation between fantasy and reality? You’ve seen all that stuff about SJW’s, as well as antivaxxers and flat-earthers, and just what that kind of thinking can lead to, and while I can understand needing something to escape to when reality gets a bit too much, wanting fantasy to become reality is just foolish, and these people need to be forced to realize that.
Con artist. And con artist would just find another way to swindle a fool out of their money. Most people know that these aren’t real and still enjoy the idea of them.
OK fair point. But what about the taking advantage of people who WANT to believe in these kind of things by unscrupulous hucksters only out to make a buck?
Unless they are joining a cult about cryptids, I doubt that most people are in danger.
Regrettably, I have to ruin the fun because such beliefs can lead to self-destructive behaviors.
You must be fun at parties. Even if they aren’t real, some of the cryptids are cool and creative. It’s one thing to not believe in them, it’s another to ruin the fun for everyone.
You make some good points there, especially with reason “A”. However, we must ruin everyone else’s fun in order to keep them permanently grounded in reality, or else people will continue to believe these things, and that must not be allowed.
Ah, good! Here’s one person!
