So what I learned from this image is that ponies, no matter what generation, are goddamned thieves and don’t know that stealing is wrong, that’s good to know!
@Softy
Well, I still don’t know why Twilight believe that using Queen Novo’s pearl against the Storm King could be the only way to save Equestria from the Storm King. Those hippogriffs/sea-ponies were about to hand it over the the Mane Six but Queen Novo is being such a lousy queen. What quite of queen is she? Twilight couldn’t risk losing the Mane Six’s only shot at it. I still don’t know why Pinkie pin the blame on Twilight for letting the Mane Five and Spike distract Novo. I can’t believe Twilight have said something so selfish towards Pinkie and the other four ponies and Spike in the beginning of the third act of the film. She lied to them about the pearl because she thought the pearl could be something to transform everypony in Equestria into something powerful enough to face the Storm King and his minions! I don’t know why Twilight just blew their only chance to win all because she was just only trying to help Queen Novo! A friend of five ponies and a dragon would never do what she did! Never! She’s just a princess in Equestria! And Celestia expect her to act like one! Man, I don’t know why she still carried the guilt over her actions of believing that the pearl could possibly be a weapon to fight the Storm King. She will not take something that belongs to another ruler that inhabits another kingdom beyond Equestria. But seeking help from other new friends beyond Equestria and also south of Equestria including Queen Novo is the only way to save Equestria from the Storm King because the Storm King have ruled and conquered Capper’s home kingdom of Abyssinia which leds him to escape to Klugetown, Captain Celaeno and her pirates have been enslaved by the Storm King and the Storm King have also ruled, conquered, and destroyed the hippogriff kingdom atop of Mount Aris which forces Queen Novo, Princess Skystar and the rest of the hippogriff population to escape underwater and build a new home called Seaquestria which results to the Storm King and Tempest tried but yet failed to steal the pearl.
@Softy
That’s because Twilight’s wrong to try to steal the pearl and lying about using the pearl against the Storm King and stop the Storm King’s wrath of tyranny over Equestria for good.
@Background Pony #D8EB
I’m not sure what they would’ve done with the pearl, but the fact Novo was willing to give it to them anyway until she discovered they wanted to steal instead of borrowing it which 8s what they were actually doing created that paradox.
@Phoenixflambe
But Queen Novo refuses to give the Mane Six the pearl because the pearl belongs to Queen Novo and the pearl isn’t going anywhere because her responsibility is to protect her subjects from the Storm King and possibly not linguistic to the surface on dry land. Twilight lied about using the pearl to defeat the Storm King and his Storm Army and save Equestria and to turn everypony in Equestria into something powerful enough to face the Storm King and his Storm Army.
You know that scene could have work had they not led to Queen Novo willingly giving them the pearl and actually simply distracted from the show. At least they’ll just chew her out on using them than bring up that extra conundrum.
@PUBLIQclopAccountant
But why does Twilight thinks she’s the only one taken this quest seriously?! The Storm King have overthrown her and all the other rulers of Equestria at the beginning of the film and conquered the entire kingdom of Equestria, and captured and enslaved all who lived there except the Mane Six and Spike!
@PUBLIQclopAccountant
Maybe Pinkie Pie just knows deus ex machina exists and happy ending will happen anyway. That’s why she is the least serious. She can break the fourth wall after all. That wouldn’t surprise me. XD
@Wayneponeth
Pretty much. Twilight not thinking her plan through and Rainbow Dash impulsively doing something awesome are both in character. It’s when they happened within 20 minutes of each other that it was obvious that the writers were making the characters throw away their victories so that there would be some story to fill the second 45 minutes of a 90-minute movie.
@Softy
IMO, much of the problems in the G4 movie stem from the fact that it was a FiM movie and therefore needed to have all six ponies (plus Spike) go on the main journey together.
It presented Twilight as being in the wrong, when she was the only one taking their mission seriously. Their mission to free their entire population from slavery and stop a mad dictator.
And Twilight getting herself caught because she assumed there was zero security was counterproductive to that exact quest. Outside of that one scene, you’re right about Twilight being the only one to care about the stakes. It’s like the other five all were perfectly aware they were in an extended MLP episode and that fate would inevitably let them win.
@PUBLIQclopAccountant
Yeah, Twilight did try to wake up the Pillars against Starlight’s warning and regretted afterward, and Starlight was the one that convinced everyone to help Stygian instead of caging him.
To be honest, both instances are characters being in the heat of the moment and it muddled their thinking. And Rainbow Dash has a history of being a dumbass. With Twilight it was pressure and fear. This is like the more subtle form of Twilighting like you said. I mean how else would she think she could just waltz in and steal something very important for the Hippogriffs without any security system other than because she just wasn’t thinking straight?
LQTM at all the longposting over relitigating whether Twilight should’ve stolen that pearl or not. Bruh, Twilight Twilighting and doing something that makes Starlight look like the paragon of rational planning is completely in character for her. The entire reason her failed pearl heist made the 2017 movie suck is because it happened within 20 minutes of the following scene.
Rainbow Dash Time to be awesome! Twilight Sparkle But if you do a rainboom, the Storm King will find us and enslave us all
“LOL,” said the Pegasus, “LMAO”
Either one of those moments is forgivable in isolation. It’s their combination within a single movie that ruined them.
@Velgarn
Did you not watch the movie? The queen gets arrested because it was revealed that the entire premise of her family’s rule was nothing more than stage magic.
@Phoenixflambe
Well, I don’t know why fans could lashed on to their hatred on Twilight’s painful moment similar to how Twilight lashed on to her hatred on the Mane 5 (mostly Pinkie). Why didn’t she heed Queen Novo’s warning not to use it? Why didn’t Twilight listen to Queen Novo when she was trying to take the pearl? Why didn’t she told her friends that the pearl could possibly be the only way to save Equestria from the Storm King and end his conquering of tyranny over Equestria for good? Was it fair for Pinkie to fully blame Twilight for letting her and the rest of the Mane Five and Spike distract Queen Novo instead of showing her the best time ever? Was it fair for Pinkie to fully blame Twilight for being the only that stopped the Mane Five and Spike? Was it fair for Pinkie to fully blame Twilight for being the only one who doesn’t trust her friends? Was it fair for Twilight to fully blame the Mane Five for seeing around, not taken this quest seriously (when it turns out the Mane Five and Spike were taken this quest seriously), or give Tempest and Grubber unwanted attention? Was it fair for Twilight to fully blame the Mane Five and Spike for being bad friends even though she could have called the Mane Five and Spike complete jerks just like what she did in in the season two episode “Return of Harmony - Part 2”, or say that the Mane Five and Spike would have stayed home and be captured and/or enslaved by the Storm King just like what she said in the season eight episode “The Mean 6” (which is release 8 months after the movie’s release) and/or the fan-made alternate ending to the film from Fimfiction by draygan titled “Twilight Takes it Too Far” even though she said that nopony else has to go earlier in the film? Was it fair to fully blame either Twilight, or Pinkie, or Rainbow Dash, or the rest of the Mane Six, or Queen Novo when it was possibly Tempest Shadow who put the lives of the Mane Six in great big danger hunting down the Mane Six (mostly Twilight) while the Storm King out the lives of the rest in Equestria in great big danger when he successfully overthrow Twilight, the Royal Sisters, and the Royal Crystal Family and successfully ruled and conquered across the entire kingdom/land of Equestria? Well, it’s possibly apparent that Twilight was or wasn’t thinking clearly in the moment thinking that the Mane 5 aren’t taken things serious or not as her inexperience and impulsiveness gave Tempest to still hunt down Twilight and bring her back to the now fallen Equestria which is now ruled by the Storm King. However, the blame could be pointed at everyone involved. From Hasbro, the writers, to Queen Novo, the Mane Six (mostly Pinkie and /or Rainbow Dash), and even Twilight with the brunt of it going to none other than the second-in-commanding lieutenant of the Storm Army and the secondary/central antagonist of the film, Tempest Shadow herself. So at any point during this whole argument/rage/lash-out/accusation, Twilight Sparkle could have throw a temper tantrum towards Pinkie by blasting/zapping her with magic or beat her or casting a spell or her, or beat up, or punched her in the face or chest, along with the rest of the Mane Five and Spike in a similar fashion what she did in the season two episode “A Canterlot Wedding - Part 2” or what Tempest did to Grubber and Verko or what Sunset Shimmer did to Twilight’s human counterpart in “Equestria Girls: Friendship Games”. But she didn’t. Was it true that Twilight would never do what she did? Well, because Twilight said that she didn’t just let her friendship failed her but she failed friendship too, she pushed her friends and everypony who cared about her away too far because she have let her friendship break apart, and in doing so, she have broken the Magic of Friendship.
@Phoenixflambe
Well, who cares? Tempest and Grubber were hunting down Twilight to take her back to the Storm along who had successfully fully conquered the entire kingdom of Equestria, captured and enslaved all the inhabitants of Equestria, and cover the entire kingdom with dark storm clouds. I don’t know why Tempest and Grubber couldn’t hunt the Mane Six underwater nor close to Mount Aris if some of the Storm King’s troops jump out of the ship and capture Twilight with their bare hands/claws.
@Background Pony #21F2
The nicest and logical thing she can do, Tempest is just gonna chase them to Seaquestria and Novo definitely does not wanna risk that.
@precure
Speaking of which, Queen Novo was originally gonna falsely arrest the Mane Six in the sea-pony dungeon after Twilight tries to take the pearl. But this was completely altered in the finished film by having her falsely banish the Mane Six instead.
@Softy
Heh, being too focused on the mission and hurting friends around them unintentionally. Is Twilight Batman? :P
But yeah, I reviewed the script of the movie and there really wasn’t a sentence of Pinkie Pie admitting her own fault. Applejack did suggest going back to talk to Twilight, being the most sensible one like always. I think the hug and everything near the end did speak a bit louder than words though. It still surprises me this movie is more about Twilight and Pinkie Pie’s conflict and friendship than anything else.
@Wayneponeth
Well, Twilight isn’t traitor to Equestria. It was Tempest. It was always Tempest! And I can’t believe you accused Twilight for being a traitor!
Honestly I think it’s doing it to both.
While this isn’t quite as bad as the other BP, paragraph breaks would help both of your cases.

Novo quite clearly said No to giving them the pearl, so Twilight went the only route that looked like it had any chance of working.
