Honestly I don’t really mind if this was true. It’ll be cool for the griffon to rebuild their kingdom and become better than they used to be. And allying with dragons is cool too because they can form an alliance to become Equestria’s new defenders after the ponykind divided. Just because ponies separated doesn’t mean every other race did too. In fact, they could prove themselves better than ponies by being more united and harmonious and form a bigger alliance with other races. Maybe they could be the reason Windigoes never came back and maybe the ponies in the past taught them well enough to be friendlier toward each other.

You sure? It looks awfully arid and lacking in snow covered peaks compared to Canterlot.

As much as I want griffons to have a good comeback, I’m pretty sure Zephyr Heights is Canterlot.

Societies can change, and people can change the look of towns to accommodate them rather then the previous residents. Could easily have expanded from the side to the peak.

Canterlot is on the side of a mountain, while Zephyr Heights is on the peak.

I’m pretty sure it’s not. If anything it was a base during Equestrias hey day. It did not look like Canterlot.
