canonically g5 takes place a thousand years after g4 so almost all of this has been long forgotten
Going to the context of this scene: this was some launch port in Zephyr Heights that was used by all three pony races - besides the Wonderbolts posters, they had travel posters for Bridlewood and Maretime Bay. Its style was that of … early-mid 20th century architecture (Think NYC Grand Central Station) in contrast to most of the more modern look of ZH.
So wild speculation is that whatever caused the Great Divide happened well after these new places were founded, but with the implication that forces like the Wonderbolts were still respected groups. And then you only needed a handful of generations to have enough xenophobia to get it to the state it was in the film (eg ~100-200 years) where most think of that past as a myth.
But we have very very few clues to go on otherwise here. Those of us really interested in world building are looking for any strings we can pull from.
Saddly it’s dificult to feel great about Wonderbolts after many bad episodes with them.
I think they hit a happy middle where they did just enough while letting this generation stand on its own with new fans.
Look I know you prefer g5 as it’s own thing, yet as Hasbro themselves said a few months back, they didn’t want to abandoned g4 that easily, they just give it like an expansion
I still hope is not.
yep, and it also means that some parts of canterlot is abandoned, likely even twilight’s throne room
Context is that this was in an old airport in Zephyr Heights that proved that it was used for travel by earth ponies and unicorns, as well as for pegasi to travel to other places. But whatever event caused the tribes to become hostile, it was abandoned.
yes i know, yet real remnants of the g4 era are needed, and that hanger had plenty of it
That was already a given from the beginning. Although it’s nice to see that the Wonderbolts are still somewhat remembered.
