We have no data about this over a thousand years period except that the villanous takeover parade which happened during the show was proclaimed to be the longest period of harmony in recent years. Also, her actions against the parade suggest that she is either supernaturally cunning, or inddeed careles, or just entirely relies on Friendship and Harmony fixing everything in mysterious ways, such as throwing Twilight into NMM without any preparation, or derailing the Crystal Empire mission by turning it into a test and refusing to make any failsafes.
