Considering how quickly Equestria has been shown to be conquered: from Nightmare Moon showing up,to the Changeling invasion, to Tirek just curb-stomping everyone, to the Storm King’s forces easily overrunning Canterlot, and finally Cozy Glow, Tirek and Chrysalis just annihilating any resistance-its no surprise most people consider Equestria’s military forces a joke. Because they are.

Also I bet the equestrians actually did do something horrible to the knights prior to the everfree tree of harmony
