Hanging Balloons is a story made by Japan’s master of horror Junji Itō, which describes a sky filled with giant, sentient head-shaped balloons which roam the sky to find their human match, and, well, hang’em with the noose they’re tied with. Classical Junji.

A point is made about how the problem can’t be solved by simply popping all the balloons, because they have a strong implicit link with their match, and if the balloon deflates, the human’s head deflates, too - still classical Junji
