Personality/Background: Luster Dawn has always been a positive filly and a fast learner. Her true passion is in magic, and she is very similar to how her mother used to be. Luster was a bit of a shut in, she didn’t want to socialize with others and much preferred to stay by herself reading and practicing her magic. But, as she got older, her mother taught her how important friendship is, and now Luster Dawn is a social butterfly. She enjoys meeting new ponies and loves to talk. In fact, Luster Dawn is known to ramble and has a bad habit of creating a one sided conversation with others. She doesn’t mean to be rude though, she’s just gets excited to socialize. Although Luster is just as studious as her mother was, she is not nearly as organized. Luster Dawn is forgetful and often misplaces things. Her childhood room always looked like a tornado just hit, and you can bet it caused her mother a great deal of stress. Twilight always tried to teach Luster the power of organization, but Luster Dawn insisted that she was organized, in her own chaotic messy way! Despite everything, Luster Dawn is adored by Twilight, and eventually Rainbow Dash, and she was always spoiled to death growing up.

Although Luster Dawn’s current family feels perfect and happy, it wasn’t always this way. Long before Luster was born, Twilight was seeing Flash Sentry. They both met each other during one of Twilight’s visits to the Crystal Empire, and they just clicked. Twilight was always the hopeless romantic type, always reading steamy romance novels and dreaming of being in a relationship, but she never really knew how to get into one. That said, Twilight was very excited when she started to date Flash. It was such a new and exhilarating experience, and she practically fell head over heels for the pegasus stallion. They always scheduled dates, either she came to see him or he came to see her. Twilight’s friends became very familiar with Flash and they all got along like a big happy family for a long time. Things seemed perfect, but that didn’t last. Several months into the relationship, Twilight discovered she was pregnant. At first she was very afraid and didn’t know what she was supposed to do, but she eventually decided to make a surprise visit and break the news to Flash. She couldn’t help but feel kind of excited, her and Flash Sentry could have a family together! Everything would be perfect, right? Well, when Twilight dropped by Flash’s house, it wasn’t Flash that answered the door. It was a mare. After talking to the rather agitated mare, Twilight discovered that this was Flash’s wife. He had been married the entire time. After that horrible situation, Twilight cut Flash off almost entirely. He came to visit her multiple times and tried to explain himself, but she didn’t forgive his dishonesty. Twilight made the difficult decision to have Luster Dawn anyways, and raise the filly on her own. Flash Sentry wasn’t very involved in Luster’s life, only coming over occasionally to visit. During Luster’s early foalhood, Twilight felt depressed because although she loved her precious daughter, she felt broken. She put Flash Sentry on such a high pedestal and now she was all alone. During this time, Twilight began to spend more time with Rainbow Dash, who related to her situation which was similar to hers. Overtime, they became more than friends and Rainbow Dash accepted Luster Dawn as her own. Luster admired both of her mothers and sees them both as role models. Luster has a decent relationship with her father, getting together with him from time to time to talk with him and spend time together. Over time she has learned to forgive her father for his mistakes, and has learned to love him as she loves her mothers.
