Here the ponies have the chance to truly rediscover friendship, and not have some all powerful Alicorn tell them what to think.
As far as I can tell Canterlot and other places are like Rome, Athens or Instanbul.
Empires and governments come and go, that’s just the way things are.
From what I’ve seen ponies have embraced technology to its fullest rather than relying on magic. That’s good, it shows progress.

They said it did, and the mane six are not only legends in universe, but have toys and merchandise.
I don’t think this show is set in the same universe as friendship is magic or maybe is not set in Equestria at all

There are 2 reasons already why the windigos aren’t around.
Ok to break it down because apparently this is a hard concept for people to understand. G4 is considered ancient in g5 meaning g5 takes place in the distant future of g4. G5 is not erasing invalidating what two and the mane 6 achieved as their time was in the past so they have no control over what happens in the future. That’s like saying a president who created a prosperous society eventually passes and the next president screws it up so let’s blame the past president. This has nothing to do with mane 6. They created a prosperous equestria it was the citizens job after them to keep that going but when equestria lost its magic Harmony and friendship was replaced with mistrust and paranoia and the magic of friendship was lost. The mane 6 started the fire of friendship, the future job was to feed it and keep it aflame

Kind of reminds me of the Pillars of Equestria. Rochkoof’s village may have been reduced to ruins but his legend still lived one. It’s probably going to be the same with the Mane Six. They are the Pillars of G5.

It need to be like this to discard all that G5 collapsology and doom saying about Twilight reign. They need to establish early on that the end of G4 had a lasting impact in Equestria history and that the separatism streak that clearly happened is out of Twilight’s hooves
They have said already they want to keep the connections and the central character’s story is starting off idolizing the last generation.
It’s a A New Generation, for Pete’s sake. Making it its own thing would be smart, but that’s explicitly not what they’re trying to do.
