After seeing G5’s movie, I’m confident in G5’s future, so our six ponies and dragon can finally rest knowing the franchise is in good hands(or hooves)

I prefer more Equestria Girls in IDW comics anyway.

Was it cancelled too soon, was there a plot left undeveloped? No, MLP FIM had 9 Seasons, two spin offs, multiple books, a comic series that lasted 9 years and 102 issues, tv specials, and a movie…for THEATERS!! That’s more than enough, that’s living the dream, not many can say they have lasted this long, counting the comics and pony life, G4 lasted a total of 11 years!
 
My only hope is that G5 builds on this and makes likable characters, sure nothing will ever match the momentum G4 had, but nothing will cause it came out at the right place at the right time, and it inspired other shows to be more progressive and showed you can like a girl show and not be ashamed.
 
FIM broke boundaries, and I can only hope the next generation is just as character driven.

It’s been over 2 years. A show getting a new season is not the default until something is announced (which is unlikely) It is over

Honestly I also wish EQG could at least get a proper ending. It doesn’t need to continue on but it at least deserves closure. The EQG series is so weird because after all the shorts that involved magical artifacts, it kinda just became this weird slideshow with mundane activities. That seems to hint that everyone involved with the series cared less and less about it and eventually just gave up on it altogether. It’s a sad fact but I don’t think we’re ever going to get anything from Equestria Girls after all.

It’s still undetermined wether or not if Equestria Girls would end. Holidays Unwrapped was technically the last special to be animated by DHX. And Boulder Media replaces DHX. But since Boulder Media animated all of the Summertime Shorts, I would think that Boulder Media would animate the future of Equestria Girls along with a proper finale.

It had a really long run. 11 years is honestly way more than I thought it would go. It’s been fun loving this series and now I’m so glad the ponies and dragon we know and love so much can finally rest.
