Slowly I’m beginning to change and find new techniques whilst sketching and shading my drawings! For a while now I’ve noticed that the hair on many of the characters I illustration hasn’t had a lot of definition and personality, I want to sketch hair so that it has more strands, looks semi-realistic, and compliments the character’s figure including follows the basic physicals of gravity and wind. <33  
As for this illustration, I want all out on ‘Nightmare Rarity’s’ hair since I wanted to express a very royal, elegant, and powerful look that the unicorn truly transfigures.  
You’ve probably also noticed how I’ve been doing stars and sparkle features! I’m experimenting with Photoshop to elevate the lighting effects and external details because I never realised how brilliant the textured brushes can really be now that I have a newer version of the software! <33

This illustration was so much fun and opened my mind to be less restrictive and ruling over my shading style and technical techniques since I always followed a certain set of steps when drawing each stage. I want to practice with digital painting skills and really bring out how colourful lighting can affect curved structures and manipulate shadows!
