Next up in our character list, here’s a couple of besties: Luster Dawn and Moonberry!
 
Meet Luster Dawn! Ambitious, driven, and a bit socially awkward, she’s the daughter of Sunburst and Starlight Glimmer. Being born of two incredibly powerful unicorns, she exhibited strong magical abilities at a young age, leaving home when she was just a filly to pursue magical studies at Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns–now under the administration of Princess Twilight Sparkle. She soon became Twilight’s personal student and star pupil, but putting such an intense focus on her studies had made the unthinkable happen: the daughter of the School of Friendship’s principals couldn’t care less about friendship. To amend this, Twilight sends her back to Ponyville–a place she hardly got to know before moving–and instructs her to send some letters and make some friends. She’s stubborn at first and can still come off a bit standoffish to new ponies and creatures, but she sees the importance of friendship in her best friend, Moonberry.
 
Meet Moonberry! Curious, inquisitive, and clever, she’s the daughter of Rarity and the older sister of Amethyst. When Rarity and her father divorced, she was forced to leave Manehattan and come to Ponyville, which she wasn’t exactly getting behind. As an investigative journalist, the hustle and bustle of the city fit well with her talent, while the sleepy familiarity of Ponyville didn’t exactly make for any exciting stories. Enter Luster Dawn, the most mysterious thing in Ponyville yet: the daughter of two Principals of Friendship and the student of the Princess of Friendship, her anti-friendliness just didn’t make sense. Moonberry became convinced there was a case to solve, but soon discovered that Luster was just a pony with a lot to learn. Still, their lives became entangled and they were fast to becoming best friends.
 

 
Finally got to posting these two! I think I’m pretty set on Moonberry’s design and of course Luster is Luster (absolutely hated doing her mane, I’m not so great at color gradients yet and her mane is a whole mess of those). These two play a role not previously in FIM; teenagers! Younger than the Mane 6, but older than the little ones. They do end up making a larger group of friends I’ll eventually introduce, but their stories primarily center around their dynamic–like Starlight and Trixie!
 
Anyway I’m gonna post the first ep of the next part and then take a break to finish requests. I was gonna do that after the last part but I don’t want to hiatus on such a depressing note lol.
