Electric storm looked down at the medal that hung from his neck. The medal glimmered but not in the way he wanted. It glimmered with the fact he didn’t win. Anger slowly grew in him as he looked at this reflection. He could hear the voice of his mother from across the court calling to him.
 
 
“Storm! Get over here!” Her voice was sharp and snappy. Strom looked down at the floor with embarrassment trying his best to pretend not to hear her. “Did you hear me?! Storm get over here now!”
 
 
At this point she was pissed. Her feathers were ruffled and her ears were pinned. She wasn’t holding back the anger. Electric storm slowly walked over to Lightning Dust, his head low with shame. He tried to speak but the only thing that came out if his mouth was a tiny squeak. Lightning Dust glared at the tiny foal as her eye met his medal. Her ear pinned against her head as she let out a grunt.
 
 
“Fourth place?”
 
 
Strom looked up at his mom, panic in his eyes. “well…I…I” he stammered. His words and thoughts were all messed up. Lighting dust fell to his level,her eyes staring into his soul. He could feel her disappointment and anger. He tried his best to keep his tears in but it was no use. Lightning Dust stood up with disgust.
 
 
“When you get home you are going to practice. No buts about it.”
 
 
She turned to the little foal and scoffed. “Got it? Your dad will be here to pick you up” Electric storm eyes were misty as he looked at the floor. “Yes mom..” his voice was trembling and small. Again he didn’t say anything to his mom. How could he? She wouldn’t listen and she didn’t seem to care anyway.
 
 

 
So at this point in the story Dumbbell and Lightning Dust are divorced. Eventually Light Dust sees the error in her ways and she and Storm see eye to eye. Lighting can finally be a good mom and Stom can finally have a good relationship with her.
