-Her necklace is a gift from Pinkie Pie from when she initially confessed to her. That happened a little before the first episode of the show. Originally the necklace was just the pearls and Flutters rejected Pinkie, because she saw her only as a friend, but still accepted the gift. Eventually after season 6 (where the Rebirthverse timeline sort of begins/anything after season 6 isn’t canon) the Tree of Harmony is destroyed and the mane 6 are set on restoring the elements. Fluttershy picks up the fragments of her element and after going home she stumbles across the necklace Pinkie had given her so long ago (at this point Fluttershy has developed feelings back for Pinkie) and after realizing her feelings for her pink friend, the pieces form back into a crystal butterfly, which attached itself back to the necklace.
-I have an entire goddamn fanfic in my head called Filly In Pink about Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie’s love story, but I’m too lazy and insecure to write it, just like many of my stories
