1-2. Gavin is the unmistakable son of Gallus and Gabby. He has all the excitable determination of his mother, and the snarky bravery of his father. Even from the moment he emerged from his egg, he seemed ready to take the world head-on. Hardly anything seems to scare this chick, or at least he likes to say so. He does like to present himself as a rough-and-tumble kind of a guy, but of course this little fella has a big heart, and big dreams. He, of course, is doted on by the rest of the Student Six, and he sees them as aunts and uncles. He loves when he gets to accompany his parents on their visits, especially to Ponyville. While its not as exciting as the Dragon Lands or Yakyakistan, Gavin does love to hang out with some of his best friends - the P’s! They have a thirst for adventure, and there’s plenty to find in that place! Plus, its where his number one hero (besides his parents) hangs out most often - Rainbow Dash the Wonderbolt! The talented mare is very much an advocate for all creatures, encouraging them to pursue whatever hobby or career they want, dependent on what or who they are. As such, Gavin dreams of, one day, becoming the very first griffin Wonderbolt! Maybe he could be the leader of a whole team of creatures one day! This ball of fluff is determined to make his very own impact in the world, and show that you can be great no matter where you come from.
 

 
3. Speaking of home, Gavin has been part of the generation that’s gotten to see the first phase Griffinstone’s revitalization. After many, many years of deplorable conditions and despondent citizens, there has been a new light shone over the once-great city. Overseen by Mayor Greta and her wife, General Gilda, the buildings are being reconstructed, the roads re-paved, the windows cleaned, and the past is not forgotten, but understood in a different way. As such, Gavin is getting a front-row seat to the effort and work that goes into these changes. But he also observes those who still don’t like any other species…or any other griffin, really. There are those who are still obsessed with bits and gold, and have no interest in any non-business interactions. Gavin, however, couldn’t care less about shiny cups and pretty coins (his most prized possessions are his autographs from the Wonderbolts). He’d much rather be romping around in the mountains with his friends (as we all know, romping is no fun by yourself). One of his closest friends is Cinder, princess of the Dragon Lands and just as hungry for adventure as he. She, too, is seeing many fundamental changes within her own society. They both appreciate having someone to relate to over these changes, be they ones they like or not. Of course, they don’t dwell on that for long, as there’s adventures to be had and skies to be conquered!
