It really feels like the new show is going to be abandoning fantasy for a more generic “toybox” sort of setting.

I’d rather not have modern electronics in MLP.

Maybe pegasus hooves do. They can walk on clouds, some magic may be at work in there.

Why can ponies use smartphones in the first place?! Hooves don’t have capacitance!

I’m not sure what to think about that. Yeah, sure, a timeskip brings in all sorts of new things, but still.
