I think for them about the fan art why they not mad at it because it isn't canon to the show, is just a fan art a fanon.
Also they need to be adapt to this new situation, because some of them been in g4 for almost l0 years with 2D animation now it's 3D.
Take it like you lived in your home country since you we're born, 30 years later you have to move to another country where everything is new, like culture. Just give them time, they will accept it.
