How easy it is to find mlp fanfictions books
As you can probably see I love collecting mlp fanfictions. It is so much nicer to read an actual book there than on a tablet. I can really encourage you to buy some online or at conventions, especially since there are often cheaper than you think. Some of them are published independently (usually one-time print runs) and some of them are published on Lulu (an online book publisher) or on Ministry of image (an mlp fanfiction publisher). The best part is that both of them operate on a print-on-demand basis. The only problem is that it is difficult to find the perfect book. I made an extensive lists on Fimfiction that includes links to around 100 different stories and story collections. :D
The Lists:
Print on Demand (Rated T and under)
Print on Demand (Rated M)
Hi. I have not forgotten you.
If you are referring to the list Print on Demand (Rated T and under) in the description. There is a second list (that I now also included) with books that are printed on-demand and rated M where also Fallout Equestria: Dead Tree is included. Print on Demand (Rated M)
If you referring to the description, sorry did not mention you or another independent publisher.

Thank you for the recommendation. But I probably will not look into it. Still need to read some of the books in my collection, and I think this will take multiple years. Sorry.
Nice that you find the list helpful. :D
He was quite vocal during the BLM protests and the nazis-in-the-fandom debate a year ago. This led to him getting doxed and harassed, including someone reporting his books to Lulu – who took them all down due to their no-fanfiction policy – and also trying to get him fired from his job.
30 pictures with some of them in color sounds really nice. As I have already said I am definitely looking forward to it. :D
That should be good for comparison. The premium color option was what I used before because it used to be their only color option. I’ll order my copy and compare with the original version to make sure I’m happy with the quality before I make it publicly available, but what I’ve seen of their standard color does look promising.
I’m planning a little over 30 pictures for the book, so there will be an illustration in almost every chapter. This is about three times what was in the original book. I’m over halfway there, and there are several pics in the works from various artists.
Edited because: Privacy concerns
Nice to hear that Lulu now has a cheaper color option. At this price, I will definitely buy the color version. When I will eventually own the new Looking Glass Book, I can probably compare the quality of different Lulu color options myself. A few months ago I made a printed one copy of the Tails of Fallout Equestria by cazra. Though this book is probably not comparable (it is like a photobook), perhaps I can still compare the quality of the pictures. I chose: US Letter (216 x 279 mm), Premium Color, 80# White, Hardcover, Glossy Cover. :D
By the way, how many pictures are you planning to use?
Ministry of Image is printing books that have a high likelihood to make them a profit. And you get probably the best changes from the legends.

Now it’s 3 weeks ago I was off by one week. Jep, the artwork is great. Hearing that it will hit like an emotional truck makes me worried. I still can not think of the ending of SS&E’s Backgrondpony without A LOT of dread and many sad feelings. This story of Lyras is one of my most favorite fanfics of all time and hearing that The Things Tavi Says is from the same author piqued my interest in the audiobook. :D
I’m still using Lulu, but they added a cheaper full color option that still looks quite nice. The difference in price between the new color option and b&w would be ~$10. If it’s the max page count (800) heavyweight paper, then the color version would be $43 and the b&w version would be $31. The actual page count is, I believe, going to be like 750 so it’ll be a few dollars cheaper. It’s such a big book because in addition to the new illustrations, it features the entirety of Breaking the Ice as well. You mentioned using euros, so that’s like €36 according to Google (actual international rates on Lulu might be different). All in all that’s about half the cost it used to be, and brings the color version closer to the b&w version.
I forgot to say in an earlier reply, but you mentioned maybe contacting Ministry of Image, but I think you’re right that I’m just not popular enough for them. I’m happy with the level of popularity I have, I’m reasonably well known among current authors and people continue to find and comment on my stories. But they really go for the legends of Fimfiction, people like Albinocorn, Eakin, and Monochromatic. Maybe someday I’ll be popular enough for that, but then, I’ll already have these books published so they probably still won’t publish me lmao
I had no idea! Only 2 weeks ago!?!?! The artwork is so gorgeous! Yes, I am very familiar with her. I thought Wubcake was done with pony stuff. Her own audiobooks didn’t get finished and got taken down along with her channel :/. I just read Skirts’ blog post. I’m glad he is signal boosting it! Maybe it will actually get finished that way. Skirts called it probably his proudest literary accomplishment and I can see that for sure. The last third or so hits like truck emotionally.

The color version will be much cheaper this time, so I don’t know if I’ll make two versions again. The price difference might make it not worth having a black and white version this time around like it was last time. Idk, but with the additional illustrations and the cheaper price, I’m really hoping people grab the color version.
I did have a Patreon for a long time, but I grew uncomfortable with it. On that note, while your offer to send money is kind, I’m not currently comfortable with it (it makes me feel bad when I don’t have content to show for the money I’m collecting). If I crowd source anything for the books in the future, I’ll be advertising that on my Fimfiction blog. And thank you for the well wishes!
Jep, the more Time Loop Trilogy books get spread around the better.
Nice that you mantond Things Tavi Says. Until some weeks ago I did not know anything about fanfiction (I still do know pretty much nothing about it but it is now on my mind).
Did you know that extremely high produktion audioplay (multiple paid voice actors, music and sounds) of the story was started two weeks ago? At this point only the first episode is finished. I highly recommend checking it out since this needs a LOT more attention. The Things Tavi Say video has currently under 300 views and a probably pretty high production cost. Maybe you know the voice actress Wubcake (The best known fandom voice sunset shimmer who sadly has deleted her big Youtube channel 2 years ago)? She is voicing Octavia Melody. c:
Did you know that Krickis made an audio book herself of Looking Glass? It is pretty nice and one of the few audio books which I heard two times. The second time I heard all 18,3 hours in only 30 hours. >.<
Feel free to take a look at my collection on fimfiction. And if you have any questions about it feel free to sak me. :D

Nice that the book is still in progress. The pictures I have seen for it in the last weeks in your blogs are quite promising. I think when you rerelease the book I will re buy it even perhaps a colored version if you make it again two versions. What I do with my old book is not yet sure. There I give it away as a present or I hold onto it. c
Sad to hear that you struggle currently in life. I hope that things will improve soon.
I am also with you that I would like to have as many pictures as possible. But this is kinda since you have to pay for all of them yourself. So I am completely happy with the amount you finally managed to be commissioned. c:
About the other books in the future, could start a patreon or something singular or team up with a publisher like Ministry of Image. Though I guess you have already thought about it. And not to be rude, but your stories may be too unpopular for the latter. I just looked at the views of fanfics which there have printed and there are at least 40k with the exception of some of the shorter stories in the Celestia and Luna collection.
If you like I would give you 10 Euros to further your picture goal. :D

Awesome, thanks for the follow! I reply to comments on Fimfiction pretty obsessively, so if you feel like sharing any thoughts or asking any questions down in the comments section, you can expect to actually hear back from me =3
It’s ok, I was just curious about it. I’m glad Ministry of Image did the Time Loop Trilogy as one book. I’m still a bit burned that Things Tavi Says lost their poll. I hope they do that one eventually :(.
That’s cool, I got into Scribbler too. I like her stuff a lot! My favourite fic that got me into all this in the first place I discovered as an audiobook.
I’ll reign my judgement on Looking Glass when I finish it lol. That’s good to know, I’ll keep an eye out for it. If I enjoy it, into the Sunset collection it goes.
I did take a quick look at your libraries. I’ll comb through it in more detail once I finish my current list.
@Krickis
I’m not far in yet but I think it’s cool that you are interacting with readers. You’ve gained yourself a new follower! :)

Haha I love being summoned, it fits my cryptid rabbit vibe. As for the book, progress is slow but it’s going. My financial situation was supposed to be fixed, which is why I was undertaking this project in the first place, but then I had to leave my job for mental health reasons. So now I’ve got half the art I want and not as much income as I was supposed to have, and I was faced with the choice of leaving it half done and just publishing what I have or taking longer than expected to finish it, and I decided if I leave it half done then I’ll never be happy with it, so I’ve really gotta just get this out whatever it takes. I don’t know what that means for future books because I wanted to give them all this heavily illustrated treatment, but unless my budget somehow gets fixed I don’t know if I’ll be able to afford it. Nevertheless though, Looking Glass is going to be exactly what I want from it, however long that takes.
@abstracted_vhs
Hey who knows the dork status of me better than me =p Seriously though, I’m glad you’re reading and hope you enjoy Looking Glass!
You got me riled up there for like 5 seconds before I looked at the username LOL.
When one speaks of the devil, he comes :D
I just mentioned you by name in my previous comment. I only saw your post after I finished my replay. Because of this It kinda feels that I summed you.
How is the work on the new Looking Glass book doing?
I got into fanfics 2016 (I only heard FOE and scribbler audiobooks). But with actual reading, I started in summer 2017. And yes there is a lot really great stuff out there. I personally limit myself to only finished audiobooks and printed books. This helps to bring down the candidates a bit. :D
bronze for great fanfics (currently 52 stories)
silver for extremely great fanfics (currently 27 stories)
gold for the absolute best (currently 12 stories)
I sometimes also look at other books fimficton (for example at your account). It is nice to what other people consider their best works on the site. ^^

Imagine reading Looking Glass lmao I heard the author of that fic is a major dork smdh
I think I saw it and then forgot about it aha. It’s hard to keep up with all the different comic series, especially when I read them about a year before they get printed as larger collections.
I took a peak at ‘Equestrian Stories’. It looks pretty tempting especially with MLD, Raven and Keepers of Discord.
About the recommendation I just mean that I read the comments here where you spoke highly of it. That made me want to read it. I will check out the others as well. I have a lot of reading to do, but I will get to them sometime soon. I got into fanfics a bit late (like 2017) but now that the show is over I have been trying to find as much of the best stuff as I can.
Thanks. I have attempted to use my judgement to rank the best fics but there is just so much out there. Far too much to read all of it. That’s why the bookshelves of people who have read a lot of stuff are useful because then I can better narrow down what to read :).

The IDW omnibuses are awesome. Did you know that there was recently released an omnibus of the side comic MLP:Legends of Magic ? Give the Pillars of Equestria a lot more backstory and it contains with issue 5 my favorite comic (Somnambula Comic) (graded I have only read a third of comics I own).
Nice, I currently only own the first one. But I have already preordered the manga omnibus and then I probably give my first issue as a present to someone. ^^
Your collection is also pretty big. And I love to see that you like also some of the official mlp books. <3
If you like to know what stories are behind the more unseaming book spines just ask. I can certainly give you more insight. :D
Only a small part of my collection can not be bought anymore. I hope you were able to buy the 4 other Celestia Code books, they are for example belated (It was not the fault of the author). In the case of the FOE books, you are wrong. You can still buy all of them. The only exception is my FOE with the original story but you can buy a pretty similar book for 175$ from the same publisher, the FOE print project/ Absolutely Everything . Alternatively, you can also buy the story at the Ministry of Image of course.
Did I recommend Looking Glass to you? Sorry but I sadly do not remember it anymore. :/
Nonetheless, this is such awesome fanfic and I can clearly see that I would have recommended it to you. I just took a quick look at your fimfiction account. You have quite a lovely taste. ^^
If I might give you a further recommendation. You like to like sunset stories a lot, so how about alternate universe fanfic where Sunset was chosen instead of Twilight to defend the nightmare moon. The story takes place about 10 after Nightmare moon took over control and fallows how Sunset and a just unbanished Celestia might bring down the dictatorship. It called Night Reigns and is also published as a book on Lulu.
Further, I have to also recommend the story The Purloined Pony . It is with its only 3,50$ the best price-performance mlp fanfiction book you can most likely find. You can find a review on Lulu by me where I go into detail about why this book should not be missing in an mlp fanfiction book collection. ^^

I don’t have a nice photo of it all together but I have:
Most of the others that I can see I have read, but just don’t own physical copies of unfortunately. There are a few things I see that I haven’t heard of or just can’t tell what it is. A couple are on my to-buy list like the art books.
It’s really just the breadth of stuff that makes me jelly. I’d like to expand my collection eventually. There are some items that I don’t think you can buy anymore (like the FoE stuff for example). I could be wrong about that, I don’t follow these things closely.
I actually just started reading ‘Looking Glass’ on your recommendation. Stories about Sunset (Vinyl/Octavia also) are my favourite so I’m looking forward to it!
