I remember working in an elderly home myself, I loved caring for the residents & giving their needs the attention 95% of my co-workers would not. I do miss that job, but don’t miss management telling me to “Stop caring so much & get my work done more quickly.”
 
I get my co-workers had soccer practice after work, but this was work & I feel it took precedence over voluntairy recreational activities. Too many times management showed a lack of logical thinking & proving to me they cared more about money than their residents…
 
It takes a special type of person to truly embrace a job like that.
