The reason why i say it is because i swear the mom is always at that sink, always has that expression on her face and she keeps cutting cozy off for everything like her mind isn’t on this earth and then shes still talking after cozy leaves. Shes a lil bit more than oblivious something is genuinely wrong and i can easily see it being the case of going the route of cozy having inherited some of her mental illness in a way.

The problem here is the ambiguity of their AWARENESS.  
. Are the villains aware of the fact that they are fosilized? [Chrysalis just started another attack/rage, Tirek (old & depowered) just cover in fear, Cozy MAY have felt her tail/flank “frozen” for a split second (she was NOT looking)].  
-> It is quite plausible that they were expecting “destruction” (ray of death), rather than forced sleep [they are not “spirits” like Discord, they can not “listen” thoughts/spoken_words through the astral plane].
 
. Are the villains aware of the presence of Twilight Sparkle? [Even if each one realized that they are “dreaming” & that the other 2 are in the same situation…]  
-> Do they “sense” the sudden introduction of Twilight as another mind, or confuse her with a dream character? (same with the rest of the mane six).
 
. Is Cozy Glow trying to “manipulate” Twilight (previously), Rarity & Fluttershy… or HERSELF?  
-> Even if she was quite “comfortable” with the idea of being EVIL; she may still have the need to “rationalize” her deviancy [for a Mastermind, as long as it follows a logical sequence, it is fine]. There may be no “Mom” at all in her REAL memories (hence why she does not have a face).

Just been catching up on this comic. Considering my feelings on the end of the show, I’ve been enjoying it a lot, especially Tirek’s segments; it’s a great expansion on his canon backstory. Curious where you’re going with Celestia and Luna’s roles in this, too.
 
And the comments have been almost as entertaining as the comic.

She always lived with her aunts while her parents are out. So there’s no abuse or neglect going on with her.

Now I get it. This is not what happened, this was just a fantasy of Cozy Glow, to justify herself and her character.  
Wasn’t she a dedicated manipulator?

My OC’s tragic backstory is that his parents are alive. And this comic explains well why that can be a much better reason for turning into a complete ass. This is the perfect backstory for Cozy, far better than her just not having parents. Like many things, it is better to have nothing, than to have a bad version of something. Like going hungry is better than eating rotten food. Parents being around, but never there for her, that makes a lot of sense for all of her problems.

“That’s nice, as long as she behaves herself.”

Well, this is the biggest Freudian Excuse ever for Cozy.
 
Are there no child services in Equestria?

This is just depressing. At this point I wonder if she realizes or cares about what happened to her daughter.
