Honestly, if Raya didn’t come out around this time I feel like no one would be saying it looks like Disney. It does a little (the eyes mostly), but it just so happened that this dragon came out, and with the head shape, eye design and position of the hair, it just so happened to look a lot like an MLP horse.

Keep in mind that some mind-blowingly good stuff has come out of CGI, and the fact that it is becoming more prevalent hasn’t somehow magically made the stuff that comes out of it worse. Get a good team with good writers behind a CGI project and they can create a fucking masterpiece. G5 will be good or bad depending on the work and talent of the people behind it, not whatever medium they happen to be using.

I for one see this as a pretty fair comparison. The 3d style is reminiscient of Pixar and Disney as they’ve been using it for a long time so it’s what most are used to.
 
Gotta adapt with the times. 2D is dying off, I believe.

I just think that mlp has an identity crisis since everything seems to be except mlp.  
It is clear that Hasbro wanted to copy Disney in the hopes of being more successful and more profitable.  
One of the reasons why mlp was so successful and gave rise to the fandom was because of its originality that made it stand out among all the other cartoons, so it risks going unnoticed and if it happens it will not be a good start for the G5.

The reason why we are so excited for this is because G5 was a success let’s hope this will also be success

atleast give it a chance. they said the same thing about dramworks. then again they only have 4 or 5 2D movies to there name and im pretty sure they stopped making live action movies

Can people stop being pessimistic? What is wrong with this fandom? Seriously, people, stop trashing G5 MLP. You haven’t even seen it yet! Now, I do agree that the Disney movie will be better, but that is simply because Disney movies have a ton of money put into them and they tend to have very experienced writers. Also, you could say ‘Fox tier’ is a compliment since there have been really well made Blue Sky Studios films released, including the Peanuts Movie (which I still love) and Horton Hears a Who. I also think that the first Rio film is really fun as well, as are many of the Ice Age films. So comparing G5 to those films would suggest that G5 will at least be a really fun ride, and won’t be cheesy in any way. Frankly, if you really wanted to insult it, you should have compared it to Illumination.
