Yeah I agree. And I already have one friend who is like that because he believes Celestia’s and Luna’s jobs are non-retirable.  
I understand more and more people have lost their patience with the show with every passing season but to me, it was always a joy to see what the show would offer to us each week in terms of what new ponies, locations and lore we can play around with.  
I liked the entire series as a whole as well.

I can understand that with others but I have an issue with it because I wanted to see my best online friend and myself see the whole series through. Even though a lot of his problems with continuing has to do with his mental issues and art deadlines.

I mean, they don’t need to finish the show to be a fan or stick around. Honestly, the seasons under the four different show runners all feel like different beasts to me. IDK, I just feel like it’s fine if someone sees a show going in a direction they don’t particularly like and decide to not continue.
 
But feel free to call out any criticism made by people who haven’t even seen what they are criticizing. That’s not something you should put up with.

I kinda agree. I mean, it’s fine if you don’t like the newer seasons, but calling them “non-canon” is just stupid. There’s still a vast majority that likes the newer seasons. Some people even think the show has gotten better as the years went by. I’m one of those. No, it’s not that I dislike the older seasons, I just liked the entire series as a whole.
 
I still see dozens of people who were angered about Twilight becoming an alicorn, and even though they claimed to have left the fandom after that, they still hang around and post shit about it despite the fact that she became a princess 8 years ago. They haven’t even watched the series post season 3 and they still say it was gotten worse. Smh.

Because there is a protion of the show that I love and still continue to do so. Along with the world and characters within. I’m sorry, but it is a very poor mentality of you think a “true fan” must blindly love everything about the thing they are a fan of. The only reason I have such strong feelings for the early seasons and against the later ones is because this is something I still very much care about.

Some people just don’t care much for the later seasons. I know, because I’m one of them.

Badumsquish’s favorite episode and what he considers to be the only “redeeming” part of the show post Season 4 or 5. Nothing wrong with choosing favorites but nothing good after those points in the show? Jeez man, grow some tolerance.
