Sombra was a case of him dying due to an attack that was kind of made in self defence. It is similar to when Twilight faught Tirek. There was simply no opportunity to capture or try to reform him. Honestly, I blame that partially on Discord as he did send him into that situation when he could have kept him in line to reform him. The trio, by contrast were left depowered, detained and powerless. There was no need to do a big attack or stoning as it was safe to try and reform them. Heck, one of them was a normal filly.

Make no mistake though, I would have loved to see a good Sombra redemption story kind of like in Siege of the Chrystal Empire.

id say there worse because they learned how friendship feels and rejected friendship completely and still choose to be evil and never ever looked back.[/bq]

The fact that they got that far in the first place shows that they do have the capability of both experiencing and enjoying friendship and the fact that they did it on their own shows more potential for them then any other past villain prior to them reforming or not.

If anything, they looked fearful of what they were fearing.

The problem is that no villain will ever reform without proper help and this is especially true with two beings who got betrayed by people experiencing friendship and one kid with a skewed understanding of it and with those three feeding their villainy onto each other. Thats not helped by the fact that Discord was further egging them on when he could have just as easily tried to help them.
No reason given
