Well, G4 had a number of other examples of heavier-than-air flight technology. Though whether anypony else ever bothered trying to develop something to replicate pegasus flight is anyone’s guess.

Plus it would be a simple matter to compensate for the lackluster lift by strapping on an extra set of wings:

With something like that, Scootaloo could quite easily become the badass flyer she’s dreamed of being.

Scootaloo could be the start of a new race of ponies- ground based speedsters who use their wings to propel vehicles. If she lives long enough to have children. Speeding is not safe kids.
