Who cares? It’s a box you put under your TV. Who cares what it looks like…
I’ve been a lifelong Nintendo fan. Wii was fun for about 6 months and then I got sick of the motion controls. WiiU did nothing to impress me and it continues to fail at that.
My next-gen console of choice will be Steam Box.
This.
>Obsolete in 2 years
Pffffhahahaha.
You obviously don’t game with a computer.
Unless you’re only putting in the bare minimum parts in, you’ll still be able to play new games at gradually reduced settings for years. You can play Borderlands 2 on a computer running Windows XP, which was released over a DECADE ago.
And unlike consoles, you almost never have to worry about backwards compatibility unless you’re trying to play some seriously ancient shit, and even then you can still run it on stuff like DOSbox.
And your PC is then obsolete in two years while I only have to slap down a one time fee and have no worries about playing any future games for the next 5+ years
For the same price as buying one, I can upgrade my computer for better results AND use it for stuff besides playing games. I can even plug in a controller and play it like a console in those rare situations where a mouse and keyboard isn’t superior.
The only advantage consoles have over PCs is local multiplayer.
second game: realistic race game, not fan of those
third game: ??????????
fourth game: WTF is this? a FF with real guns?
@TurboJ
Even as a non-biased gamer (this past gen I owned both a Wii and a 360), you’re asking for a smackin’. :)
This PS4 better have virtual reality :I
New Zealand isn’t part of europe; and unlike europe, our wages are on average a third less than wages in america.
Due to the Strong NZ dollar, the game companies charging $100 for videogames has become somewhat egregious, i.e.
Why the hell do I have to pay a third more for videogames even though I come from a country that’s a third less wealthy?
Thus, this is the reason I am a primarily PC gamer (I also own a 360 and PS3), since prices are usually fairer.
You Euro bronies sure do get the shaft when it comes to electronics, then again, your wages are higher so your prices are inflated.
WHO GIVES A FUCK ABOUT THE CONSOLE IF YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT IT CAN DO AND WHAT IT’S GOING TO GET! We saw the games, we saw the specs and features, who needs to look at the piece of shit console design.
Or if second games are indeed not usable in the later future…i mourn for gaming…
And when instant video is too long to wait, something’s up.
Wow. Killed the mood, I see.
Seriously, did any of you even SEE the press conference instead of reading shitty follow up blogs to it?
No Sony thinks that Facebook is the future of gaming
MarluxiaExactly. But this is still great because we got to see what the software looks like when it’s running on the new system. And ultimately, isn’t that what this all comes down to? Isn’t the point of video games is being able to just play them?
Sony apparently thinks so! Too bad no one else does!
Y’know… You might be on to something there. Internet may not be inherently bad, but if there’s one negative thing it’s done for sure, it’s ruin everybody’s ability to be patient. No wait, that’s just instant-gratification consumerism culture.
