Still, if they’d have crushed her hope by killing everyone she loved and idolized, not only would they have won, if even for a millisecond, their stone imprisonments would’ve been even more justified.

I dunno why you guys always gatta bring Discord into the argument, and try to paint him as an unforgivable, and a worse villain then he actually is, in order to make the finale trio look better. If anything, it’s probably turning Discord fans away from your side.

@Smart Heart
Let’s face it, there’s no way they could get away with all that…
GrimChariot

@Beau Skunky
I wasn’t part of the argument I was just clearing up the situations you were referencing.

But if thats the logic you want I wonder how many people Discord drove to suicide psychosis and murder during his prior rule.

Chrysalis and Tirek are by no measure worse then any other villain, and assuming the random forest had a town in it is by and large an assumption.
Smart Heart

@Beau Skunky
Still, if they killed Spike regardless of the trade, then, I’d be lenient about their stone imprisonment. If they truly were as evil as they claimed, they’d have ripped Spike’s wings of and blasted him into ashes once they got the bell back. Then they’d get a good laugh at Twilight’s face as all her hope was gone.

Well, there’s different varieties of evil, and just because a villain keeps their word, doesn’t mean they aren’t evil. Thanos had some morals too, like he didn’t believe in lying, and looked down on it, but he did terrible things regardless.
Smart Heart

@Beau Skunky
What I was trying to get at was if he were truly evil, he’d have killed her friends regardless if she surrendered her magic or not. Same with the trio when they were holding Spike hostage for the bell.

And you don’t believe the slight possibility that there any casualties in that timeline? And who’s to say he only destroyed (or was going to) a forest?

@Smart Heart
I assume Tirek would’ve attacked/killed them if they continued to interfere with his conquest. His first reaction when the Rainbowfied powered-up Mane 6 was to try to blast them, which didn’t end well for him,
GrimChariot

@Beau Skunky
I’m not part of this but Tirek was basically turning the Everfree/random forest into a war zone for…some reason, the empty wasteland was the last one and we don’t get an explanation as to who or what caused that one.
Smart Heart

@Beau Skunky
Much as I hate to say it, I agree on those two. I’m actually surprised Tirek kept his promise for releasing Twilight’s friends after getting the alicorn magic. Plus everyone else for releasing Spike after getting the bell.

@asdtroi
I hate to jump back in this argument, (as it’s going nowhere) but in regards to that Tirek “leaves everybody alone, and doesn’t hurt anyone” remark, didn’t one of those possible futures Twilight witnessed in the Season 5 finale show a full-power Tirek reducing Equestria to a burning wasteland? Not to mention his physical fight with Twilight was surprisingly violent, or at least as much as a MLP cartoon could get away with.

And another timeline had Chrysalis waging war with Equestrians, and such, so she’s not exactly peaceful & nonviolent either, and she hurt Celestia before, and such. So I don’t think either are above “killing.”

A misguided anti-hero who keeps doing villainous things and keeps getting immedietly forgiven for it.

i never said that discord is a innocent victim but hes a misguided anti-hero

@CORDZ2000
And when did Cozy try to kill them before the finale? She only threatened to send them to another dimention, which Discord also tried to do to a pony. She was also oddly merciful when it came to guards. Tirek was content to leave his drained victims alone and was willing to keep his end of the bargain when he gave back Twilight’s friends after she gave him the princesse’s magic. Chrysalis only ever went for captures.

@CORDZ2000
Neither is Discord.
Background Pony #8EAE
Tirek especially. He was the only one specifically detestable right from the first line and frame and there wasn’t ever the slightest attempt to mitigate it. The other two had their moments of doubt. In the end, I’m satisfied.

@CORDZ2000
Not at first, but they were pawns in Discord’s scheme in season nine.

The trio aren’t innocent victims in the first place
Background Pony #FF7A
@CORDZ2000
Discord did things equally bad to the trio so if that limit exists, it should go to him as well.
CORDZ2000

they were given up on because unlike discord he never tried to kill them multiple times the characters have limits to there forgiveness.
Background Pony #FF7A
@CORDZ2000
The difference is that Discord was released and given a second chance by Celestia and was persistantly helped to reform by Fluttershy and constantly forgiven for every misdeed afterwards. The trio were immedietly given up on and recieved no help to reform. Had those three got what Disocrd did, they very well might have ended up like him or better.
Smart Heart

@CORDZ2000
But it still wasn’t morally sound. You might forgive him, but until he helps in reforming them, I won’t. Besides, it’s almost as if your saying the ends really do justify the means in this case.
CORDZ2000

@Smart Heart
Discord was honest about his intentions too but whatever agree to disagree on whats actually shown in canon
Smart Heart

@CORDZ2000
Probably a good idea. I won’t budge an inch. Criminals they may be, but they also became victims of someone else’s game in season nine. What Discord did to them was inhumane and I will not change my stance on that. Until Discord does something to change that, I’m siding with these three criminals, because they at least were honest about their intentions.

i think i seen u comment this same thing somewhere else, im not sure if your just saying whatever your saying and refuse to even slightly change your position no matter how many clear points someone makes or what. so ill just end it here.

@CORDZ2000
But it still wasn’t his call to make. He committed treason! That is a very serious offense no matter what his reasons for doing so were! The ends don’t justify the means!

@Smart Heart
is it justice? no. but one can argue its laser guided karma considering how chrysalis abused her subjects literally starving them to death, also what discord did to them forcing power over them is no different than what they intended to do to innocents of equestria, so that also can be seen as laser guided karma. The difference being in the targets and the reasoning for which they would do so, I think also many seem to not pay attention to Discords character development throughout the series and bring up his previous acts as to why hes no better but don’t pay attention to how he doesn’t try to do those acts again in future episodes. For example how he goes off the rails because he wants to be included among friends and bringing up the tree hugger situation forgetting that he learned from that and asked to be included in future episodes such as Best Gift ever and directly asked twilight in summer sun. He broke up big mac because he didn’t understand love and thought she deserved it for trying to break up with his friend later making up for it without being asked and then later being excited to hear there getting married in Big Mac Question. I feel its easy to look at Discords actions and be like oh hes doing bad still despite the fact hes supposed to be reformed and forget that he is still trying to learn and can have his heart in the right place.
