Description

Once all these characters were all villains, bullies, jerks, and enemies to our pony pals. But now, thanks to the Magic of Friendship, they are all their friends. While their beginnings were dark, their endings are now aglow with light. Meet all the reformed enemies. Princess Luna (hmm…) plz Trixie Returns Discord Icon Gilda (hmm…) plz :icondiamondtiarahappyplz: Silver Spoon :iconstarlightsohappyplz: Angry Ahuizotl

Here are all the reformed antagonists of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic! The very first reformed villain was the show’s very first villain. But Princess Luna/Nightmare Moon would only be the beginning of one of the show’s most beloved themes - that everyone (pony and creature) deserves another chance.

Here are all the enemies turned friends. I first made this back in November last year with the pre-made vectors of Starlight Glimmer, Discord, Princess Luna, and Trixie. Then, after a nine month hiatus, after I made vectors of Garble and Gilda for my Dragon and Griffon Day projects and included them into the pic, I spent all of August making vectors of the others, as well as their antagonistic expressions for the other villain and bully pics (Stygian’s vector was included after I made it in January). I finished making this by the 29th of August, and at first, I thought about uploading this in September. But then I decided to upload the other compilations of the other antagonists and villains, and save this for last since it would act as an ending to the villains’ collection. And if you also notice, instead of giving them the dark rainbow background, I put in the Mane Six rainbow background. Friendship truly is magic.

Now, where were we? We all recall when the peaceful country of Equestria and the lands beyond welcomed the very first reformed villain, or villainess…

Princess Luna - When the Mane Six first used the Elements of Harmony to defeat Nightmare Moon, they also restored Princess Luna back to her former glory. And after Princess Celestia congratulated Twilight Sparkle for her mission, she turned to her sister, asking her put aside her jealousy and rule together again. Luna came to realize that she missed her sister, the only pony who loved her back then and still, so she tearfully embraced Celestia, mending their family. With the two sisters reunited, they continued their reign over Equestria while Twilight and her best friends continued to spread harmony and friendship throughout the kingdom. Of course, Luna now had a new problem - how to win back her subjects after all the trouble she caused while the evil Nightmare Moon.

Nightmare Night had arrived; this Equestrian version of Halloween was inspired by Nightmare Moon herself, when supposedly Nightmare Moon would escape from her lunar prison and demand for an appeasing offering of candy, otherwise she would devour ponies instead. On this Nightmare Night, Princess Luna arrived, in a flurry of dark clouds and her own royal carriage chauffeured by two of her bat pony guards, frightening everypony. Only Twilight Sparkle, who was dressed up as Star Swirl the Bearded, wasn’t afraid of her. When Luna’s attempts to win her subject’s trust failed due to her rusty social skills, Twilight enlisted help from her best friends to give the repentant princess tips on how to become approachable. However, with a combination of Rainbow Dash’s scary pranks and Pinkie Pie’s paranoia, everypony became more and more scared of Luna. Enraged by their apparent rejection, she canceled Nightmare Night. When Twilight confronted Pinkie for her insensitive behavior, Pinkie revealed that she only did it on purpose since getting scared can be fun and it was the point of the whole festival. Getting an idea, Twilight instructed Luna to play along as Nightmare Moon for the night. When Luna saw how much ponies enjoyed the holiday and how much they loved her playing the character, she agreed to reinstate her holiday.

Soon, Luna found another purpose in life - to enter ponies dreams and offer them help and guidance. She even visited the Cutie Mark Crusaders in their dreams and helped them with their personal problems; first, she met with Scootaloo, who was having a nightmare that Rainbow Dash would dislike her if she knew she was scared, and told the young Pegasus to face her fear; then, she entered Sweetie Belle’s dream, and told the little Unicorn that jealousy towards her sister and the actions to spite her have disastrous consequences, and finally, Luna visited Apple Bloom, who was afraid about what her cutie mark would be or if her friends would abandon her if they got theirs before she did, and the princess showed her that Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo had the same fears, and the lesson was the same - the cutie mark can’t change who they are or their friendships. But as Luna would continue to offer sleeping ponies help in their dreams, the nightmare of her dark past continued to haunt her.

In fact, since her redemption she spent her sleeping days torturing herself with a nightmarish spirit she created called a Tantabus! While everypony forgave her for all the trouble she caused when she was Nightmare Moon, Luna punished herself with nightmares by having the Tantabus feed on her shame and enact her evil history. But one day, after her last nightmare ended with a happy end, she discovered that the Tantabus managed to escape and the parasitic demon infected the Mane Six’s dreams as she dreamt about them. The more dreams it fed on, the stronger it got, and if it wasn’t stopped, it would destroy Equestria! Together, the Mane Six had Luna enter their dreams to capture Tantabus, but it escaped and this time, it entered the Ponyville denizen’s dreams. Despite the town’s populace fighting off the monster in a shared dream projected by Luna, the Tantabus continued to grow. Princess Luna’s guilt caused the demon to grow to immense size. Luna tearfully revealed that she herself created it to punish herself with nightmares after the suffering she inflicted as Nightmare Moon. Realizing that the Tantabus was feeding off of Luna’s guilt, Twilight and her friends rallied around her, telling her to forgive herself. With her friends’ love and support, Luna did, and this destroyed the Tantabus. Luna is now able to sleep peacefully knowing that, even though she isn’t perfect, she must be more loving to herself and she always has the love of her friends.

Trixie - This arrogant one-pony magician had a knack for gloating about her “great and powerful” feats of magic. But after Twilight Sparkle saved Ponyville from a rampaging ursa minor, Trixie was humiliated and could no longer perform her traveling magic show, as other ponies in Equestria mocked and ostracized her for her boasts and lies, and then she had to take a job at Pinkie Pie’s family’s rock farm to earn her keep, which in the end humiliated her. And this would be the beginning of a great and terrible path for Trixie…

In season 3, she returned to Ponyville, only this time, she wanted revenge! She acquired a dangerous object of power, the Alicorn Amulet, and used it to challenge Twilight Sparkle to a magic duel as reprisal towards Twilight for showing her up when she defeated the ursa minor. Trixie defeated Twilight with her new powers and banished her from Ponyville. She then took over Ponyville, remaking it in her own image, forcing its citizens to do labor for her, and punishing anypony who refused. She was especially hard on her only fans, Snips and Snails, constantly making them work harder. Little did she know, the Alicorn Amulet would corrupt its wearer, and Trixie became more and more villainous as she wore. When Twilight returned, she claimed to have an amulet stronger than Trixie’s, and Trixie accepted a second duel. In the second duel Trixie was only able to cast one spell before staring on in horror as Twilight performed spells that she herself could not. Immediately after Twilight won, Trixie stole her amulet so that she could rule all of Equestria. But once she removed the Alicorn Amulet and put the new one on, Twilight revealed this was all a trick she set up, and Rainbow Dash snatched away the Alicorn Amulet and gave it to the zebra Zecora to put it back in hiding. To make amends for her horrible behavior, Trixie provided fireworks to back Twilight’s entertainment provision for the visiting Saddle Arabians. Later on, the repentant pony apologized, explaining that the amulet had corrupted her and she couldn’t stop herself from being cruel to everypony. Trixie asked Twilight for forgiveness, to which Twilight obliged. Trixie now knows that friendship really is the most powerful magic of all.

She has stumbled here and there again, but she’s proved that she is being a true friend. But even sometime after she changed her ways, she started doubting the value of second chances as there were some ponies who didn’t forgive her readily. However, that would all change when, in season 6, she returned to Ponyville, where she met another Unicorn who was also from out of town and burdened by a dark past - Starlight Glimmer! Despite Twilight’s initial opposition to their new friendship and despite Trixie revealing that she partly became friends with Starlight just to beat Twilight at something, the two new pony pals became the best of friends, and still are.

Discord - The mischievous spirit of disharmony returned to wreak chaotic havoc on Equestria, but the Mane Six defeated him and turned him back to stone. But how long would he remain contained, and if he escaped again would he continue turning the pony kingdom upside down again or would he turn his life around?…

After being defeated by the Mane Six, Discord was set free, this time by them. Near the end of Season 3, Princess Celestia decided to give Discord a second chance and have him use his topsy-turvy magic for good instead of evil, and appointed Fluttershy to the task. Of course, as soon as the Mane Six freed Discord, he stirred up mischief, like corrupting a family of beavers to flood Sweet Apple Acres, devouring a reform spell Twilight thought about casting on him, and having Fluttershy’s cottage turned upside-down, set in a slow rotation above the ground. While her friends knew that he was still up to no good, Fluttershy insisted on using kindness, immediately becoming his first and only friend. When Discord’s mess with the beavers was alerted, Fluttershy implored the sneaky Draconequus to restore everything. Discord would do so - on the condition that Fluttershy never use her element of harmony against him, as a “sign of [their] friendship”. Much to her friends’ shock, Fluttershy agreed. But instead of keeping to his word, Discord froze over Sweet Apple Acres into an ice-and snow-covered landscape, believing he won. Although she was angered by the deception, Fluttershy abided by her promise not to use her element of harmony, accepting a set of ice skates Discord conjured up. The sneaky villain proceeded to wallow in his apparent victory, taking advantage of Fluttershy’s friendship, and his freedom before Fluttershy announces she was not his friend, throwing the skates away. Discord shruged off her anger, taunting over her. But then, it dawned over Discord as he looked over at the abandoned skates he gave her, he realized that if he didn’t make things right, he would risk losing his first and only friend. Feeling ashamed, Discord restored everything, learning how important friendship is to him. And when Celestia returned to check on the Mane Six’s progress, he pledged to use his magic for good instead of evil… most of the time. From that point on, Discord has gone from being the kooky, whacky, unpredictable enemy of Equestria to the kooky, whacky, unpredictable friend of the Mane Six. He makes an effort to be a good friend, and his methods are questionable, but it’s certainly better than living in an eternal state of unrest and unhappiness for all ponies.

There were times when he made serious mistakes to Equestria. Like when he betrayed the Mane Six and forged an alliance with the evil centaur Tirek. However, after he was double-crossed by the power-hungry villain, Discord realized his mistake. Remorsefully, he gave her a medallion he had received from Tirek in mock alliance. The medallion became the final key needed for the chest from the Tree of Harmony, which opened to bestow the Mane Six with a new Rainbow Power and were able to defeat Tirek, free the princesses and restore every other pony’s magic. Unfortunately, this didn’t deter Discord from making another dangerous error. To help boost Twilight Sparkle’s confidence before she became Equestria’s new ruler, he gathered up the remaining villains and disguised himself as Grogar, tricking them to work together. However, the villains betrayed him and nearly destroyed our heroes. Good thing the crafty Draconequus helped the ponies escape while he, the princesses, and Starlight Glimmer kept the villains at bay, and later on turn them to stone like he was once.

Gilda - This jerky griffon was once Rainbow Dash’s childhood pal, but after they were reunited in Ponyville since Nightmare Moon’s defeat, Gilda was not as good of a friend as Rainbow recalled. In fact, she was very mean to everypony around her, she pulled terrible pranks and even roared at Fluttershy while she was helping a family of ducks cross the road. But she was especially hard on Pinkie Pie for being Rainbow’s new friend. However, when Rainbow discovered that her griffon gal pal was nothing more than, as Pinkie put it, the meanest kind of mean meanie-pants there was, their lifelong friendship was over and Gilda returned to Griffonstone in anger. But, maybe she wasn’t as mean as she was in Ponyville…

A year later, after Twilight Sparkle became the Princess of Friendship, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie were sent to Griffonstone by the Cutie Map to solve a friendship problem, and were greeted by the rude Gilda. What was once a mutual love for flying between her and Dash was now a mutual resentment towards each other. Rainbow Dash believed that she and Pinkie Pie were sent to find a long lost Idol of Boreas, but Gilda didn’t believe that the idol exists inspite of Grandpa Gruff believing it did as well. While Rainbow went in search for the idol, Pinkie discovered the Gilda wasn’t the meanest kind of mean meanie-pants there was she made herself back in Ponyville; the griffon harbored a kind, caring attitude she would behind a rude facade—most likely a result of her upbringing in the equally egotistically, empathetically repressed griffon kingdom—and actually regreted losing her friendship with Rainbow. When Rainbow’s search for the idol puts her in danger, Pinkie Pie convinced Gilda to remember the times when she and Rainbow were friends and help to rescue her. She was later given a choice between saving Pinkie and Rainbow and recovering the lost idol, and she chose to save the ponies’ lives. Learning to embrace friendship, Gilda reconciled with the ponies and chose to stay in Griffonstone to makes new friends, offering a new treasure for the griffon kingdom. Also, with help from Pinkie, Gilda’s scones tasted better than before and are now selling like hotcakes.

Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon - For a long time, since the start of the show, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon had always looked down on ponies without cutie marks. They especially teased and mocked the Cutie Mark Crusaders, even as they tried to find their destinies. But in the middle of season 5, these enemies would soon become more involved with each other and in an unexpected alliance and then some.

The Cutie Mark Crusaders helped their classmate, Pipsqueak, win their class’s student president election against Diamond Tiara. As Pip’s campaign managers, the Crusaders encouraged the students to vote for him, and he won! Diamond Tiara was very upset for her loss, though her snooty behavior was the last straw for Silver Spoon, who voted for Pip when Diamond ignored her advice, and disowned Diamond as her friend. And to make things worse, Diamond Tiara was reprimanded by her even snootier and abusive mother, and member of the school board, Spoiled Rich, for failing to live up to their family’s social status. Feeling sorry for Diamond Tiara, the Cutie Mark Crusaders offered to help her change her ways so she can earn her classmates’ support. Diamond Tiara revealed that she wanted to be a better pony, and she even doubted about her cutie mark helping her become as such. The Crusaders told her that she did have it in her to change and offered her their hooves in friendship. But when they learned Pipsqueak was unable to fulfill any of his promises as student president, Diamond Tiara attempted to replace him to regain her mother’s favor. With the Crusaders’ persuasion, however, Diamond Tiara ultimately stood up to her mean-spirited mother when she reprimanded her again for associating with common foals, and lent her family’s funds to the school instead. By using her talents for good, Diamond Tiara got straight to work, helped Pipsqueak fulfill at his campaign promises, and even reconciled with Silver Spoon. No longer are these two rich girls harassing anypony for being “blank flanks.” Now they’re showing kindness and acceptance to all.

Starlight Glimmer - Starlight Glimmer was once the dictator of a small town in the middle of nowhere, and claimed to bring equality to anypony who came. She did this by stripping ponies of their cutie marks and replacing them with boring equal signs with the Staff of Sameness. Fortunately, the Mane Six exposed her as a fraud, freed themselves and the villagers from her concept of “equality,” and she fled. But Starlight would return…

Wanting revenge, Starlight used Star Swirl’s time travel spell to change history in order to destroy the bond of the Mane Six, unaware of the horrible consequences her meddling left behind. Twilight Sparkle, who she and Spike were sucked back in time, learned how important their friendship was to the peace in Equestria. Twilight showed Starlight this, but Starlight revealed to her and Spike her tragic story. A long time ago, Starlight’s best friend, Sunburst, got his cutie mark before she did, and left her. Feeling betrayed and abandoned, the bitter Starlight became convinced that cutie marks cause disharmony and that anypony having different degrees of ability makes others unable to be proper friends. Before Starlight could continue with her revenge, Twilight offered her hoof in friendship and taught her the importance of uniqueness and individual talents. Starlight finally accepted friendship, and then, Twilight took on the reformed Unicorn as her student to learn the Magic of Friendship.

Since then, Starlight has done so much, such as reconnected with Sunburst; saved the Crystal Heart after it was shattered by the newly-born Princess Flurry Heart; defeated Queen Chrysalis and helped reform the Changelings; help mend a estranged relationship between Celestia and Luna; insisted on freeing Stygian from his own hate instead of banishing him, and restored Twilight’s confidence after Chancellor Neighsay shutdown her new School of Friendship. Since her reformation, however, Starlight did run into some snags while learning about friendship. Fortunately, she would make a best friend forever in the form of one of Twilight’s former enemies - Trixie! Despite Twilight’s previous opposition to the friendship, the two Unicorns have become some of the tightest friends you’ll ever find. When Twilight opened up her School of Friendship, Starlight became its guidance counselor, and a really terrific one at that. And then, after Celestia and Luna announced their retirement and the Mane Six were to become their successors, Twilight made Starlight the school’s new headmare, with Trixie succeeding her as guidance counselor.

Stygian - After being stripped from the evil Pony of Shadows, Stygian’s friendship with the Pillars was mended. But he still felt terrible for his dark past. He became a best-selling author, writing at least three stories about his past experiences; his third hit entitled Me and My Shadow. But no matter how horrible his story was, the Pillars and all of Equestria will always continue to value him, and all the good he’s done for it.

Fizzlepop Berrytwist - Tempest Shadow, or should we say Fizzlepop Berrytwist, put behind her dark past too. Once the commander for the evil Storm King, desiring to have her broken horn restored, she has now learned to live with it, using her magic for fireworks for special events, like she did for Twilight Sparkle’s Friendship Festival. Whenever she is not out participating in Equestrian events and festivals, Fizzlepop roams the lands beyond the pony kingdom. In fact, she returned to the mysterious south since the first Friendship Festival, spreading the news of the Storm King’s destruction. It is possible that she made amends to her former lackey, Grubber, and they became friends for good.

Chancellor Neighsay - The strict head of the Equestrian Education Association (EEA) continued to disapprove of Twilight Sparkle establishing her own school policies and rules for her School of Friendship. The xenophobic chancellor also opposed Twilight for welcoming “dangerous” non-pony creatures as students. He even felt good to successfully evaluate the sneaky Flim Flam Brothers’ Friendship University, since there were no non-ponies for students and it met with the requirements. But even if he wasn’t pleased to discover it was all a scam, Neighsay would soon discover a new truth contradicting his own.

Magic was disappearing from Equestria, and nopony knew why. One of Twilight’s students and right-hoof pony, Cozy Glow, suggested that the cause of this was Tirek. Before the Mane Six set off for Tartarus to confront him, Twilight appointed Starlight the role of headmare in her absense. However, she mysteriously disappered, and Cozy Glow assumed the role. Later that night, however, Chancellor Neighsay appeared in Twilight’s office and seized control from Cozy. Then he detained the Young Six, believing them to be responsible for the failing magic; Sandbar was freed after feining a change of allegiance to escape to find out who was really responsible. The next day, as soon as Neighsay addressed the school students and declared that Twilight’s administration was over and that the school would be shifting over to E.E.A. guidelines, Cozy Glow incited a full-blown student uprising against Neighsay, tieing him up in chains and lock him up in Twilight’s office. When the thunderstruck Neighsay asked Cozy why she was doing this, she explained that because friendship is the most powerful force in the world, she wanted to take over the school and harness the friendship of its students to become the most powerful pony in Equestria. But soon, the chancellor wasn’t alone for long. The Young Six snuck into Twilight’s office and found him chained up and trying to retrieve his medallion. Neighsay believed the six came come to gloat, but to his surprise, they helped him by releasing him from his chains and reveal Cozy Glow’s true nature and plans to him: She revealed that she was the one responsible for draining magic from Equestria so that everypony would turn to her as the “Empress of Friendship!” With this knowledge, Neighsay used the remaining magic in his medallion to open a portal to Canterlot and inform the princesses. Fortunately, by the time they reached the school, the Young Six foiled Cozy’s evil plan, restoring magic to Equestria. When the Mane Six returned, after learning that Tirek and Cozy were in on this together, they confronted the villainous filly. But before she could escape from them, she was stopped by the other students, the princesses, Chancellor Neighsay, and the royal guards, and was sent to Tartarus. Later on, Neighsay apologized to the Young Six for misjudging them and admitted how wrong he was about non-ponies being incapable of learning about friendship. Since then, the once rough Neighsay shows a kinder and more tolerant attitude, and finally showing acceptance of Twilight’s institution.

Garble - Spike’s dragon enemy, Garble, has always acted like a rude, mean-spirited jerk to him and his “namby-pamby” pony pals. He even threatened to terrorize Equestria if he ever became the new Dragonlord. Thank Ember that never happened. However, a new surprise would catch many off guard!

When Spike and Fluttershy went with Smolder to the Dragonlands to help cheer up her sensitive brother, they were shocked to learn that Smolder’s brother was actually Garble! Despite their enmity, Spike agreed to cheer the bully up, but with no success, while Fluttershy went to check on the dragon eggs, which haven’t hatch for some reason. Spike decided to trade tasks with Fluttershy: she would try to cheer up Garble, while he went to try and help with the dragon eggs. It was then Fluttershy discovered a big secret: Garble was a beat poet who expresses himself through his rhymes, performing exclusively for Smolder, and keeping it hidden from his friends for fear of being mocked. And in order to keep himself from being picked on he would pick on others, like Spike. However, ever since Smolder left for school (and even before then), Garble has been creatively repressed. Meanwhile, Spike discovered that the ground was too cold to let the eggs develop and realized that Garble’s friends were draining an underground lava reservoir so that they could surf and swim. Encouraged by Smolder and Spike, Garble performed his poetry for the other dragons, causing them to laugh so hard that they produce a fire hot enough to hatch the eggs. Ember proclaimed that her subjects will start to celebrate their differences rather than make fun of them, and Garble was declared a hero.

Dr. Caballeron- One of Daring Do’s enemies, the greedy treasure hunter, Dr. Caballeron became among the last enemies to change for the better. Before he saw the error of his ways, Caballeron tried to demonize Daring Do and attacking her reputation in recent event. It was one day when he launched another attack on her image that he would finally be reformed.

When she wasn’t do her adventures, Daring Do took on a civilian persona as the acclaimed author, A.K. Yearling and write all her adventures to everypony, having them believe that Daring Do was a fictional character. However, Dr. Caballeron tried doing the same thing, however, it would be to defame Daring Do. Using the alias, “Groom Q. Q. Martingale,” he wrote an entry, Daring Do and the Fallen Idol, which would be written from his point of view, portraying Daring Do in a very negative light, and even revealed that Daring Do is a real-life pony. Because of this, A.K. Yearling, while at a bookstore doing a book signing, was confronted by a number of readers who harshly criticized her over the content of Martingale’s book. Word of this caught Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy’s attention. Rainbow was outraged by Martingale’s libelous writing, but Fluttershy thought the book gave valuable insight into Caballeron’s perspective, annoying Rainbow that Fluttershy was defending a known villain. The two Pegasi met up with Daring Do at the bookstore, and found her miserable at how Martingale was ruining her character. At the same time, Martingale was doing a book signing right across the street from Yearling’s, and when Rainbow and Fluttershy went to confront him they discovered that he was Dr. Caballeron in disguise. Rainbow confronted Caballeron about his new scheme to make Daring Do look bad, but Caballeron claimed he was just sharing his side of Daring Do’s story with the public. Rainbow refused to acknowledge Caballeron’s claims, but Fluttershy offered to hear him out. Of course, Caballeron “explained” that he and his henchponies unearthed ancient artifacts in order to preserve them in a museum, but Daring Do always intervened, refusing to team up with Caballeron and keeping the artifacts for herself. When Fluttershy mentioned Caballeron’s past attempt to sell the Rings of Scorchero to the highest bidder, Caballeron “revealed” he did so because Daring Do’s actions caused his museum to go out of business. As Fluttershy started to consider the true consequences of Daring Do’s actions, Caballeron thanked her for listening to his side of the story and invited her to accompany him and his team on an expedition to the Tenochtitlan Basin. Fluttershy accepted Caballeron’s invitation in order to find out which of the two Daring Do authors was telling the truth, much to Rainbow Dash’s shock. Deep in the Tenochtitlan jungle, Caballeron put on a facade of being kind and thoughtful, in order to keep Fluttershy fooled, like wanting to preserve the local plant life and protect his henchponies from poisonous fruits for Fluttershy’s sake. However, after Fluttershy shared food with her new friends, pacified some familiar-looking jungle cats before they could attack, gave Biff positive reinforcement, and saved Withers from a swarm of fly-ders, Caballeron and his henchponies became impressed by Fluttershy’s kindness and willingness to listen.

Eventually, the team reached a temple that housed the Truth Talisman of Tonatiuh. Once inside, Fluttershy, Caballeron, and his goons made their way to the chamber of the Truth Talisman of Tonatiuh. Caballeron, over-dramatically playing to Fluttershy’s kindness, convinced her to retrieve the Talisman with her flight. When Fluttershy triggered a booby trap and nearly fell into a pit of lava, Caballeron and his henchponies saved her. Just as Caballeron claimed the Talisman for himself, Rainbow Dash and Daring Do appeared (you’ll read more in the next villain’s section) and demand he relinquish it. Fluttershy tried to convince them that Caballeron and his henchponies simply wanted to put the Talisman in a museum, but Caballeron, compelled by the magical properties of the Talisman to tell the truth, revealed that he did indeed trick Fluttershy into joining him at first, but during their time together, he and his henchponies came to value her kindness and friendship. Just then, Daring Do’s other arch-nemesis, Ahuizotl, appeared and commanded a group of guardian gargoyles to attack the temple intruders before trapping them inside the chamber. Daring Do and Caballeron drove them off with bright light reflected off of the Diamond of Lapis Lux, which the latter apparently stole. With advise from Biff, the ponies all worked together to escape the chamber, but they ran into Ahuizotl again. They struggled to keep the Truth Talisman away from him, but he eventually trapped them in a narrow dead end. So is this how it ended? Were Daring Do and Dr. Caballeron defeated in that instant? Just one more baddie to go.

Ahuizotl - Daring Do’s first and most fearsome archenemies, the jungle beast, Ahuizotl, has always confronted the brave treasure hunter left and right. He would snatch away the artifacts she’s collected and use them for some nefarious purpose. He seems to be a typical bad guy you’d would read in an adventure story. Or maybe there’s more to him that meets the eye…

At the same time Dr. Caballeron and his henchponies tricked Fluttershy into helping them steal the Truth Talisman for monetary gain, Daring Do and Rainbow Dash followed close behind to rescue her. Daring Do knew that Caballeron would feed on Fluttershy’s willingness to listen and deceive her into retrieveing the Truth Talisman of Tonatiuh, since it cannot be reached without a Pegasus’ flight. When the two daring pegasi arrived at the temple which housed the Talisman, however, they were suddenly snared by Ahuizotl himself, who was partially impressed that they avoided his jungle cats; they were actually distracted by Fluttershy and Caballeron. Rainbow and Daring escaped from Ahuizotl just as Caballeron and his team opened the temple entrance, and Rainbow and Daring followed them inside. After Fluttershy retrieved the Talisman and Caballeron, compeled by the talisman’s powers, confessed his deception, Ahuizotl, appeared and commanded a group of guardian gargoyles to attack the temple intruders before trapping them inside the chamber. Although everypony managed to escape the chamber, they ran into Ahuizotl again. They struggled to keep the Truth Talisman away from him, but he eventually trapped them in a narrow dead end.

As the ponies wondered how they would escape, Fluttershy decided to reach out to Ahuizotl the same way she reached out to Dr. Caballeron, even though Rainbow Dash doubted her again, and she asked him why he was trying to destroy them. Taking the Truth Talisman and influenced by its magic, Ahuizotl made a startling revelation - he was never a villain after all, but one of several guardian creatures of Equestria tasked with protecting the artifacts of Tenochtitlan, a task made difficult by Daring Do and Dr. Caballeron’s repeated artifact thefts. Driven by his desperation to keep his job and some violence, he would take rash and extreme methods of harming the intruders. It would even make sense that him using the Rings of Scorchero to bring about eight hundred years of unrelenting heat was to make be impossible for anypony to steal his artifacts, most notably Daring Do and Dr. Caballeron. Seeing this new side of her old enemy, Daring Do said she only took the artifacts because she believed she was protecting them, and she and Caballeron realizes they were wrong about Ahuizotl. As gratitude for the ponies listening to his side of the story and returning the Truth Talisman, Ahuizotl allowed them to leave—on the condition that Daring Do and Dr. Caballeron never steal any more artifacts from the Tenochtitlan Basin. And they haven’t since.

Reforming all of these fiends hadn’t been easy. And while some continued their wicked ways (and for some still do), at least there are some who’ve become true friends to all of Equestria and beyond. There have even been times when they’ve worked together, like when Starlight Glimmer, Discord, and Trixie joined Thorax in rescuing the Mane Six and the royals from the evil Queen Chrysalis. Funny though was that Discord and Trixie weren’t always on good terms with each other. Then, when the three remaining evil villains - Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow - terrorized Equestria and divided everypony and creature into distrust and fear, Starlight Glimmer confronted Chrysalis in an epic battle before getting overpowered by the vengeful changeling. Meanwhile, Trixie escorted the students at the School of Friendship, which allowed the Young Six to unite the ponies and non-pony creatures. Discord, who brought the villains together to help boost Twilight’s confidence as the new ruler but failed, helped Starlight escape, and together, with the princesses’ help, they distracted the villains while the Mane Six escaped and regrouped with Twilight. Then, the reformed villains banded together with the rest of the Mane Six’s friends in the final battle against the fiends. Chancellor Neighsay, Fizzlepop Berrytwist, and possibly Stygian helped the other Unicorns in projecting a force field to protect our heroes, while Gilda and Garble joined the other creatures in fighting the villains.

Since the defeat of Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow, all the reformed enemies live better lives, even after Twilight became Equestria’s new ruler. For instance, after discovering that Daring Do was A.K. Yearling, Caballeron proposed they would co-write her next book. However, when they held a book signing for it, they were upstaged by a third Daring Do author: Ahuizotl! Since Twilight was the new monarch of Equestria, her former student, Starlight Glimmer, became her School of Friendship’s new headmare, and the Great and Powerful Trixie became the new guidance counselor. The other redeemed antagonists’ fate are but speculation. The daughter of Filthy and Spoiled Rich, Diamond Tiara, likely became a philanthropist with her best friend, Silver Spoon, at her side. Rainbow Dash’s childhood griffon gal pal, Gilda, is still probably selling griffon scones, while former dragon bully Garble has become a beatnik poet sensation throughout the Dragonlands and beyond. As mentioned earlier, Chancellor Neighsay, who was once known for his strict, xenophobic, rough personality, still carries a kinder and more tolerant attitude, welcoming non-pony creatures as friends instead of shunning them as enemies. Stygian continued to help the Pillars of Olde Equestria, and likely became the new leader when time finally caught up to the legendary Star Swirl. Fizzlepop Berrytwist is still living a fulfilled life, even with her broken horn. Friendship never failed her since. Despite his huge blunders, Discord is still everypony’s silly, zany, kooky, chaotic friend. And while Fluttershy continues to run her animal sanctuary, he would continue to help her as her part-time friend. And as for Princess Luna, she and Celestia retired to the Silver Shoals, where they relax in comfort, care, and love. Nightmare Moon will never resurface and blacken her heart again for the love and friendship she always wanted from her subjects and the wisdom she gained after her return and redemption are now with her forever.

There were theories of him according to a FimFiction user.
According to FimFiction user:
From what I saw in mlp, some look of the villains of the season have a Freudian Excuse, something that happened in their lives that made them that way:
Nightmare Moon- feels overshadowed
Discord-Never had a friend
Sombra-comics said he was an outcast among the crystal ponies
Tirek- Jealous of his good brother
Starlight-traumatized over losing her friend due to his cutie mark
Chrysalis-obviously, she doesn’t want to share love because she’s scared of transforming.
Stygian-felt betrayed by the pillars
But was is Neighsay’s excuse? Something made him think non-ponies are bad. Here are my theories:
Grew up in a family of haughty unicorns, descended from Platinum.
Had his cutie mark scratched by a nonpony since we haven’t seen his mark
Lost a friend because a nonpony attacked that friend. Hint: she was in a movie
According to myself:
So I might be explaining [FimFiction user] theories to Neighsay’s Racism.
So I might be explaining Catrina’s theories to Neighsay’s Racism

Grew up in a family of haughty unicorns, descended from Platinum.
Okay so this theory could be partially, and possibly true, but that’s a “ponism” situation, it ain’t a racist situation. But what if he had a strict family like how he was strict? What if he told him only the non-ponies’ dark side?

Had his cutie mark scratched by a nonpony since we haven’t seen his mark.
This could be possible I mean, look close in this image below. This is from S9EP26 (School Raze-Part 2).
It appears his flank doesn’t have a butt mark. So I would say it could be possible.

Lost a friend because a nonpony attacked that friend. Hint: she was in a movie.
We all know who is this friend of his. Since we have the MLP: The Movie, we should be talking about Tempest Shadow. I mean this could be possible, like when Neighsay found out Tempest got attacked by that Ursa Minor, he got more afraid than usual since it is a nonpony after all. Then I would just be imagining Neighsay reuniting with Tempest moments later after School Raze. This would really explain the image below. This is from S9EP25 (The Ending of the End-Part 2).
As you can see, Neighsay and Tempest are looking at each other…LOVINGLY. So might as well SHIP THEM! So, NeighShadow would be the ship name, right? Hmm…So I would say POSSIBLE!

I wanted backstory on the guy but since we got none, I still dislike the bastard. (In before people call me a hypocrite on Chrysalis, Sunset Shimmer and Starlight Glimmer.)
Before aligning with Chrysalis, I would have been fine with no redemption for Cozy but since the writers made their choice, my choice is now altered.

Diamond Tiara was given an excuse that her mother encouraged her elitist behavior. Didn’t Babs Seed threaten to tell her mother once about her bad attitude causing her to become scared? Why would she be scared if her mother encouraged her bad attitude?

It’s still psychologically sound and happens in real life all the time. As for the Babs thing, that’s obviously the problem of a series that doesn’t plan ahead. But in context, a possible explanation would be that Diamond knew if her mom saw some blank-flanked thug from Manehatten ordering her around like that, it would likely not go down well for either of them. And DT would not want to take the chance of getting on her mother’s bad side, likely following past experience.

Stygian’s reformation might be the worst of them all. We never got to see the pony of shadows actually do anything. Instead, the entire episode was just a debate between Starlight and Star Swirl on whether Stygian should be reformed or not, and then the writers decide to victimize Stygian and antagonize the pillars.

He was “victimized” because mistakes were made by the Pillars AND Stygian, and things went the worst way they could. Honestly, being spurned by those you thought were your friends, for something that wasn’t entirely your fault, filled with despair and spite… being at your lowest point would lead you to making pretty desperate decisions… I really felt for the guy.

Funny thing about Starlight being given a weak backstory, because one of my DeviantArt besties had a history very similar to hers. So it doesn’t seem weak to me and to my friend.

With the exception of Princess Luna and Trixie (the latter which required another reformed villain, one whose redemption “ruined the show forever”), all of these were poorly written reformations.

Ahuizotl’s was the most forced of them all. Let us pretend that he was lying about his job and that he is still evil.
Chancellor Neighsay received no real punishment for his racism and the fact that he almost started a world war. His reformation wasn’t as bad as most other villains in the show, but he never actually did anything to redeem himself. Everyone just forgave him.
Diamond Tiara was given an excuse that her mother encouraged her elitist behavior. Didn’t Babs Seed threaten to tell her mother once about her bad attitude causing her to become scared? Why would she be scared if her mother encouraged her bad attitude?
Doctor Caballeron and Daring Do work together and then they become friends. Villains have worked with heroes before in desperate situations and in many cases that villain remains evil. Once again, another unnecessary reformation.
Tempest Shadow is just a clone of Starlight, who was a clone of Sunset Shimmer.
Garble wanted to burn down Equestria one time and then they turn him into a sensitive victim who gets bullied for not bullying spike, and then choose to make him a beat poet what the actual fuck.
Discord has been “reformed” for most of the series and still doesn’t understand the basics and has been an annoyance to Equestria during most of the show’s run. He even turns into a villain again in episodes like A Matter of Principals and the entire season 9. Why hasn’t he been turned back to stone?
Stygian’s reformation might be the worst of them all. We never got to see the pony of shadows actually do anything. Instead, the entire episode was just a debate between Starlight and Star Swirl on whether Stygian should be reformed or not, and then the writers decide to victimize Stygian and antagonize the pillars.
And of course, Starlight Glimmer’s redemption. She was given a weak backstory and after creating seven apocalyptic timelines, each worse than the last (because Flim and Flam are worse than all the major villains), she is instantly forgiven. She didn’t have to earn her forgiveness and respect unlike Sunset Shimmer who was still hated by everyone when she reformed.
