he Villain League, or Legion of Doom, is still out there, scheming to defeat the Mane Six and to take over Equestria for good! However, Grogar has no idea what his comrades are also plotting. Season 9 of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was halfway complete when we came back to these three, and they’re almost ready to carry out the grand master plan of all evil plans. But Grogar didn’t know what else they had in mind…
 
It was the day before summer, and everypony was preparing for the final Summer Sun Celebration before Princesses Celestia and Luna would retire from ruling the kingdom. Meanwhile, four other characters were also preparing. Grogar and his fellow villains, Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow were plotting to defeat Twilight Sparkle and her friends. However, since the three new allies failed to retrieve his Bewitching Bell, Grogar was going to search for another object of power in lieu of said Bell. Even though he was pleased that they finally worked together, the once fearsome Emperor of All He Saw had no faith in the other’s incompetence. Little did he know, the three villains DID retrieve the Bewitching Bell, but they planned on using it against him before they would attack Equestria. They only had one problem: how does it work? Unable to activate the Bell, Cozy Glow mentioned the restricted area of the Canterlot Archives that Twilight once told her about and suggested looking there for information. But they would have to be quick, or else if Grogar returned before they did it would be the end of them…
 
A few hours before the sun would be raised heralding the first day of summer, Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow snuck into Canterlot under the cover of night and tried to infiltrate the Archives. But they soon had difficulty doing so. Since King Sombra’s assault on Equestria, Shining Armor installed new security measures around the castle. This included an anti-magic field made from the shards of Chrysalis’ throne, giant fans that prevent getting in from the air, brick walls over the entrances to the castle’s underground tunnels, doubled and round-the-clock royal guard security, doors that only open with royal guard medals, a trap door, and an alarm system of geese. At the same time, Twilight Sparkle and her friends and Discord were in Canterlot too, making Princesses Celestia and Luna’s last Summer Sun Celebration memorable: Following Twilight’s instructions, Applejack and Pinkie Pie oversaw adjustments to the Celebration catering provided by Applejack’s cousin, Braeburn, and the Earth Ponies of Appleloosa. Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash met with Pegasi from Cloudsdale and their very high-strung coordinator Feather Flatterfly to request changes to the weather. Despite his uncontrollable panic, Flatterfly agreed that he and his team would do their best to fulfill Twilight’s wishes. Rarity and Spike met with the Unicorn team in charge of the ceremony’s fireworks display, led by Fire Flare, to communicate Twilight’s new vision for the fireworks show. Luckily for the fiends, Chrysalis came up with an idea and explained it to her fellow villains.
 
Tirek, hiding in the bushes nearby, absorbed the magic from the Earth Ponies, causing them to become severely weak. Braeburn believed it to be the result of contaminated food and warned everypony not to eat any until they figured out what is going on. Cozy Glow came up to Flatterfly and offered to take care of the weather changes for him, which resulted in sudden hazardous weather patterns… as she intended. And Chrysalis disguised herself as a Unicorn pony named Crackle Cosette and convinced Fire Flare and her troupe that unicorns were superior to Earth ponies and Pegasi and that fireworks shows were a waste of their magical talent. As a result of Tirek, Cozy, and Chrysalis’ schemes, the Summer Sun Celebration preparations devolved into complete chaos.
 
However, the Mane Six managed to repair the damages, from nursing the weak Earth ponies back to health, to clearing the sky of hazardous weather conditions, and convince the unicorns to perform. In the end, the Summer Sun Celebration was a huge success, and in recognition of how much Celestia and Luna have done for Equestria, Twilight announced a brand new holiday to replace the Summer Sun Celebration: the “Festival of the Two Sisters”! Meanwhile, Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow took advantage of the chaos to incapacitate a royal guard, infiltrate the castle, sneak past the patrol of geese, break into the Archives, and finally found the book they needed to activate the Bell. And they returned just in time as Grogar arrived and revealed that he succeeded where they failed: he found a new source of power to defeat Twilight and her friends with and would set out the to retrieve it. And when he would return the villains would finally claim Equestria at last. With the book they stole from the Archives, Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow resolved to unlock the power of the Bewitching Bell, and possess the power they would need to defeat their old enemies and rule Equestria once and for all. Cozy and Chrysalis also had a more unscrupulous and despicable scheme to further shift the odds in their favor…
 
Cozy Glow - “You know, it really was super easy to get all those Earth ponies and Pegasi and unicorns to turn on each other.”
 
Chrysalis - “It was, wasn’t it? Now that is something to think about…”
