Also known as Celebrate Bisexuality Day, Bi Visibility Day, CBD, Bisexual Pride and Bi Visibility Day, and Bisexuality+ Day, today is when we recognize and celebrate Bisexual and Biromantic people, those who fall in love and/or have sexual attraction with both male and female, or to more than one sex or gender. In fact, this is one the final day of Bisexual Awareness Week, which is observed from September 16 to 23. This is all to promotes cultural acceptance of the bisexual community as well as attempts to create a platform for advocating bisexual rights.
I’m sure some of you didn’t know but our favorite sunny, hot, bacon haired Unicorn Equestria Girl, Sunset Shimmer, was confirmed to be bisexual by Katrina Hadley to artist/voice actor :iconwubcake: in a tweet. twitter.com/isitlunchyet_t/sta… I was surprised by this revelation, but I have nothing against it. Sunny’s perhaps the best Bi ever!
I will sheepishly admit I didn’t know about any of this, the holiday I mean. I learned about BiWeek sometime ago, but I didn’t learn about the main holiday until just yesterday. When I got to work on this, I had a couple of ideas, with Sunset Shimmer at the center of it all. In one idea, she had Sci Twi (or Twilight Sparkle) on one side and Flash Sentry on the other. Then I thought about doing a pony version. I got started last night, but I discovered that the vectors of Sunny I already have weren’t what I had in mind. In fact, I spent all night and all day today trying to figure out a pose that would fit the interaction. Eventually I found the pose I was looking for, but due to the time of day coming to a tragic end, I decided to post this with only her in it. I’m really sorry for the late submission, but due to my apparent creative disability (and helping my family out), I couldn’t get this submitted on time as promised.
The start of the month might’ve been about recognition, acceptance, and awareness of vultures, but near the end of the month is about those who “fly both ways.” As one of my dearest friends believes Bisexual and Biromantic people are amazing and deserve every bit of respect and appreciation. I hope you love all this, and I do have something in mind to make up for what I had in mind.

Sadly, Hasbro doesn’t want any lawsuits. They made background characters lgbt canon, but not the main characters. No equality.
If she was truly bisexual, then maybe they should show us a romance with another girl.
After all, basing this affirmation in implications or ambiguities is not the right solution.
Her having an ex-boyfriend could mean she’s straight or bisexual. It doesn’t necessarily imply she’s straight.
Exactly. The official material never said that she was bisexual. A tweet is not enough to get a satisfactory explication about her sexuality. Like you said, the staff is only trying to show to us how inclusive they are, but it looks like nothing but a mediocre attempt to introduce us to the brainwash agenda. Which is sad, because, I never was a true fan and I wasn’t never agree with the EG concept, but this just make things worse. Forgetting the fact that they’re going to the wrong way, is incredible that some people think a tweet is enough to change the sexuality of a character, specially one from a really loved franchise like My Little Pony is.
And no, fans can do whatever they want with the ships, all of them are just the artist making his fantasies reality, they literally can ship with whoever they want, from the series, or even from another series. Under this logic, then we can say Big Macintosh is an horrible pedophile and serial killer because he killed the Cutie Mark Crusaders in the fanfic Sweet Apple Massacre . The material made by the fans is another world from the official material.

This is just more pandering BS made by the writers after the show is done in order to be inclusive, or some “Look at us! Look how diverse we are! Say nice things about us!” bullshit.
If the writers really intended to make her bi, they should have had an official episode where she shows romantic interest in another girl. We got that with Korra, so they have no excuse. All we get from Sunset, as far as attraction is concerned, is her and Flash. That’s it. And now that the show is over, we will never get anything else. Having them “announce” it on Twitter after the show is over doesn’t make it official, it’s literally just headcanons and “what ifs” at that point.
Shippers can ship all they want. I’m not saying they can’t. Nothing they do at this point will make it canon though.
“Pride”, in this case, just means “the opposite of shame”, a rebuke to those who would degrade people because of their immutable characteristics. Swinging both ways is no great achievement, which is why you see alternate names like “visibility” or “awareness”, but the principle is the same.
