Its not just a simple memory wipe, it messed up one of Luna and Celestia's greatest achievements with it turns out its essentially a lie in a way. And the fact now any lore can't be trusted due to they can easily pull "their memories got altered". Its really bad there.
All season 10 had to do was "ignore" the previous comics and focus only on the show's continuality while "reintroducing" anything the comics had(such as the Deers), kind of like a clean slate for that stuff.
But sadly that doesn't seem like the case there..
Also why I took so long to reply back on this one is due to my nervousness happened, like worried about what the reply would be and such. It happens sometimes..
