Shockwave is no fool and Megatron knows it, but the bizarre circumstances of the crossover (a space bridge opening a portal to an entire different universe) is making Megatron lose it. And Shockwave doesn’t talk back to Megatron because, again, this is something completely unique for the Cybertronians.
 
Megatron had bad experience with dimension jumping according to canon information from different series. Then it was no wonder that Megatron had to react violently to what Shockwave had informed him about this. But as we can guess, the decision will be taken out of his hands because of Chrysalis. And Shockwave will consider this his biggest mistake in his entire life as he - the disciple of logic - will meet Pinkie, the master of illogic.

Hiccups like that aside, “G1 Transformers” can mean either the 80s show, the Marvel comics, the Dreamwave comics, the IDW comics, or the War for Cybertron show that was released this week.
 
It’s clear that this crossover is mixing all five at once, so the question of “which Transformers G1 is this supposed to be?” is “all of the Transformers G1”.

I feel like this crossover would work better if they used the Prime characters. Would be a nice way to pay tribute to the Hub and both shows’ 10th anniversary.
