I had always just assumed she was created as an ironic joke, like so many other things from that site, because imageboard culture celebrates edginess.

I know people were discussing it in the recent /mlp/ threads and brining up posts from the original aryanne threads. The origin I was hearing from this was that an anon created her so that the aryanne threads would not get bombed by /pol/ users (as all other threads were)
 
But either way the idea that she was created to “normalize nazis” is stupid and not based on any facts.

That far back I’m afraid I wasn’t really around either. My understanding is that it wasn’t so much so a raid, more like a merging “”“going wrong””” (moot knew exactly what he was doing), regardless after the merge there are two theories I would give credit:  
One is that a /pol/ f^_riend^ thought a nazy pony would ward bronies away from /pol/.  
Second is that she was created has a tribute by a fellow brony  
Regardless of the ary’s exact origin she has been indeed used time and again to ward puritan tumblerinas. But if anypony has a another take I would love to ear it.

As such, using Aryanne to trigger “anti-nazis” is totally in-character.

You also said in an earlier post that ‘censorship’ would push people to be radicalized a nazis. If all it took to get them to accept hanging out with Nazis is someone saying ’hey your Nazi art is weird and disturbring” than they probably never cared about Nazis one way or the other anyway.

Well, I do have a piece of history about based pony for you. Grab a sit by the fireplace, it’s propaganda history time.  
 
The great boom of season 2 was when the /mlp/ board had to be created to contain all the autistic pony posting going around the boards, it was also around that time when Aryanne, as if by fate, came to be. Now now, her actual origin is ban worthy under jannie law, but this is enough for now. It was a prosper year indeed, where many did join.  
Soon after pony grew to other sites, namely reddit and tumbler. Needless to say the culture in these sites are very different from the culture in /mlp/ and there was a great war fought during 2013 and 2014 where redditors and tumblerinas where trying to purify the brony fandom of the racist /mlp/. The details of this war doesn’t matter, what does matter is the role Aryanne played on it.  
 
You see, the user base of both reddit and tumbler aren’t well known for handling strong emotions in a healthy manner, and boi oh boi does Aryanne causes a lot of strong emotions.  
Whenever there was an infiltration we could ward them away with the based pony. Just quote the element, ask if he is a zebra (there was no (((griffons))) back them) acompained by a smiling Aryanne. Instant chimp out, so obviously repeat until the element left.  
Thanks to her efforts the infiltrators ended up isolating themselves in their respective websites, where they proceed to grow more and more puritan until they devoured themselves to extinction in less then a year.  
 
Now history repeats itself as twitterinos want to cancel bronies for the exact same reason and they are already going to the same purity road that led to the extinction of pony in reddit and tumbler, that being of course banning porn and race bating. Soon, just like before, Twilight’s skin wont be dark enough, and soon after that the artist’s skin wont be dark enough to draw Zecora. Just like an ouroboros the cycle of life and death repeats itself.

Yeah, I really hadn’t caught that. Aryanne’s an earth pony (and I had the impression they’d only have earth ponies as her allies), so the unicorn magic was throwing me off. Not to mention the idea that the “anti-censorship” people were “cancelled” (or wiped out, for the in-universe equivalent). So that’s why I ended up at the conclusion I did. Never really dove into learning more about Aryanne beyond the obvious.
