Backstory: Balla Bambina is the youngest and only member of her family to be born in Ponyville. She is also the younger sister of Grace and Feather Dust.

When she was very young, she had an irrational fear of scary stories, especially fictional ones, and she frequently had nightmares about them. Thanks to her sister Grace, however, the only way for her to face her fears is to express herself in a way that makes her comfortable. Bambina discovered that she had a talent for dancing, but she didn’t earn her cutie mark until after she faced her fear of stage fright by dancing in front of the audience.

Bambina was very shy around other ponies, even those approximately her age, though many ponies admired her for her pale colors and ethereal appearance. However, Bambina and her brother Feather Dust were victims of an attack that caused her to be insecure of her appearance. During a night out with Grace, a group of older ponies began to harass and grope Bambina, only for Feather Dust to stand up for her. When he was attacked by them and the group threatened to kill the two younger siblings, Grace saved her siblings by scaring the criminals away. After the incident, Bambina felt worse, as she started having nightmares about the incident over and over again as well as symptoms of PTSD. Despite the negative impact the attack had on her siblings, Grace came up with a plan to help her siblings resume their normal lives with her therapy skills as best as she could.

As Bambina grew older, she had already gotten over her fear of scary stories and eventually ended up liking them as a teen. She usually read them as a way to cope with her trauma or for her own leisure. Since she was always curious to learn more about the history of the stories and such, she often looked up to a mysterious but wise stallion for help. At first, they started off as strangers, then as friends, until one day, when Bambina made a discovery about him that made her fall in love with him.

Besides dancing, Bambina also likes guitar playing. She had been practicing it since she was a filly, and even though she doesn’t want to grow up to be a guitar player, she just sees it as a hobby and likes to do her guitar performances when she’s not in the mood for dancing. She also sings while playing the guitar as a way to express her feelings. She actually taught Destiny Blood how to play it, which explains why Destiny has a close relationship with Grace besides the fact that she was her therapist. In return, Destiny helped her confess her feelings to the wise stallion.

Bambina plans on being a dance teacher not only because of her love of dancing, but also to shape up the lives of ponies and to teach them the life lessons that she herself learned while growing up.

I wanted to post this OC so bad, but I couldn’t have done it without posting Feather Dust first.

To those of you that are wondering, I named the OC after the Wiggles song called Balla Balla Bambina. It’s one of my favorite Wiggles songs even though I don’t understand much Italian (Yet I can tell what the meaning of the song is).

Feel free to draw Balla Bambina, or any of my OCs if you like! :) (Smile)
