It’s actually genuinely cuter, if the expression is present on a female anthropomorph and not a humanoid male, which unfortunately is what encompasses a majority of the style: Steven Universe, Teen Titans, Thundercats, et cetera. :L

why hasn’t their been any “how to draw” type books in the last few years teaching kids and wannabe cartoonists to learn how to draw step by step characters in the thin line/Calarts style as that style has been prominent in most cartoons, comics, webcomics, indie video games and internet flash animations in the last 10-15 years, because I think the ones where you learn how to draw Anime/Manga style characters are a little bit out of date with kids as it was like trying to cash-in with the Animesque and martial arts cartoon craze of the late 90s and 2000s?
