Why does Sweetie Bell’s hair look so freakin triangular?

It is. Her horn appears in other parts of the video.

Well ofc, and I’m not denying it. But FIM has had more than one occurance of missing important parts.  
 
 

 
It happens in flash animation and anything similar to it where some things just disappear.

That was mostly on background stuff (which is ironically what the majority of fans focus on), but this is a major character very visibly missing a part of their model.

It happened all the time on the original show. This isn’t new.

Cheaply rushed animation, leaves out important character aesthetics at every turn.

Yup, the Cutie Mark Crusaders basically are preteens (or relatively short teenagers) in Pony Life. Smallfry is an example of how younger children will look like in this series.

This is actually something I expected to happen.  
. Boulder Media created their “own version” of the human C.M.C.s for their “early” ToonBoom Harmony animations of Equestria Girls [set around the 3 days Princess Twilight spent on C.H.S. back in the first movie].  
. Since Boulder Media never animated the pony C.M.C.s for “Rainbow Roadtrip”, it means they did not had to deal with whatever “standard” HASBRO could have enforced (based on DHX´s Friendship is Magic).  
-> Given that DHX does not exist anymore, Boulder Media can “claim” re-design choices [like simplified cutiemarks] without fearing legal complications from their “intromision” [like what happened with Sunset Shimmer´s “Boulder Exclusive” lizard pet: “Ray of Sunshine”].
 
Another interesting detail: The C.M.C. are animated in Pony Life like “small mares” (rather than “grown up” big fillies).  
. In FiM there never was a clear, distinctive “intermediate stage” between fillies & mares [in flashbacks pony Fluttershy was just an enlarged, deformed filly]; unlike for the Equestria Girls who have almost the complete gamut of bipedal hominid life cycle stages (only lacking the “milk drinking baby” & a intermediate between the “middle age” & “old”).  
. By choosing to acknowledge the C.M.C. already having their cutiemarks (Spike also has his wings), they got a permanent “upgrade” to “Young Ladies” that could gave them some needed true independency.  
-> They are NOT a representation of the central target demographic anymore (712 years), but rather the “upper” side of non-adults girls that can legally use Youtube (1317).

Their manes look weird. Apple Bloom’s and Scootaloo’s look like the Equestria Girls version and Sweetie Belle’s doesn’t look like her mane at all. What’s more, Sweetie Belle’s mane makes her look more like an adult businesswoman or something instead of like a child.

Expressing the obvious here, but where is Sweetie’s horn? XD
