I’ve learned to like it. My headcanon is that mares incubate changeling egs inside them, the eggs drawing off the mare’s love and storing it while growing slowly until, say, a month later or so when they’re able to continue growing on their own, outside of the body. Then the hive has another fresh broodmare, ready for impregnation again.
