How is Applejack a Mary Sue? She can’t tell a lie, she’s not exactly exceptionally intelligent, she can’t do magic, she can’t fly. She lost to RD in a hoof wrestling contest…
 
Let’s contract with Starlight:
 
Literal prodigy, exceptionally intelligent, mastered time magic, doesn’t need wings as she can just glide with magic, got pardoned for kidnapping the mane 6 and stealing their cutie marks, also got pardoned for screwing with space time and nearly dooming Equestria, is on par with an alicorn in magic, she convince AN ENTIRE COLONY OF LOYAL CHANGELINGS TO MUTINY, she banished DISCORD, can solve pretty much any problem except the one’s the writers hamfist her to fail at.
 
That said, I like her in these shorts. Probably the most organically not in control she’s ever been. But she’s still a Mary Sue in my mind. Sorry.

Haven’t watched this one yet. Is that the last one of the shorts, or will there be a sixth one?

One of the defining traits is a character being included in every situations and scene you can think of.  
The extra episodes aren’t disspelling the rumors of her being a mary sue.
