How can you all be forgetting the 3DO version of Star Control II, the very reason we have The Ur-Quan Masters?

For those who don't feel like following the link: when Paul Reiche III and Fred Ford made Star Control II, they sold Toys for Bob the rights to make a 3DO port; these rights included everything but the name "Star Control II", which they retained control of. Many years later, an intern convinced Toys for Bob to release the 3DO source code, and all of the media that went with it, under the GNU General Public License, which allowed fans to port it back to the PC under the new name "The Ur-Quan Masters". So if not for the 3DO, you wouldn't have a version of Star Control II that ran well on modern systems with (optional) full voice acting!

Now follow the link and play it yourself! It runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux!
