“You’re up, princess.” Spoke a voice behind her. She looked to her right to see a large dragon-like creature laying beside her. She gasped and scrambled back, the sudden movement worsening her headache. She grit her teeth and hissed but did not take her eyes off the creature.
“Do not be afraid, princess. It is I, King Sombra.” Spoke the large drake. Twilight gasped quietly and took in the sight before her. He was a large creature, easily dwarfing Queen Celestia. His scales were a dark maroon decorated with swirls and stripes of a darker shade. His underbelly and wings were a dark blue, speckled by dark dots that almost looked like black stars. He had a log black and red horn and notched ears that bore a resemblance to Midnight’s ears. Overall he was a perfect mix of a unicorn, dragon, and skinwalker. Twilight looked into his bright green and red eyes and smiled.
“Master, your new form is amazing! And your scales are so shiny.” She gushed, her eyelids heavy and her head pounding.
“Thank you princess. My soul has not yet completely bonded with this body, but when it does, I will be at full power once again. Then we can continue our exploits.” He smiled, exposing his sharp fangs. “For now though, you should rest. You performed the spell perfectly, worry not.” Twilight smiled softly and yawned. She lowered her head and pulled her legs close to her torso for warmth. She said nothing when King Sombra shifted closer to her and wrapped his tail around them.
