Yeah, though that’s somewhat understandable, as the original DS and DS Lite were backwards compatible with GBA games.

Shame the Micro wasn’t backwards compatable, had a smaller screen, and such.

Oddly, the GBA Micro was the last Gameboy ever made. I remember people even used to call the DS a “Gameboy DS” mistakenly.

I had the SP, but a friend of mine had the original GBA, and one of my cousins had the Micro. They were all pretty good, but I think the Micro had the best features, with adjustable brightness and some interchangeable faceplates

Yeah, but the pics would all be upside down, where the SP’s cartridge slot was on the bottom. Though that wouldn’t be an issue on the first GBA model or the GBA Micro.

Yeah, but the GBA was backwards compatible with GBC games. I think it may have also been able to play original GB games, but I’m not certain about that.

Okay, the GBA SP was the first international Nintendo handheld with backlighting.
But still, there’s no denying that the GBA had some amazing games on it.

God, yes. The GBA was awesome, and the GBA SP was the first Nintendo handheld with backlighting, so you could play it i the dark without anything extra to help you see.

“Wario Land 4” for GBA sometimes gets ignored for being the shortest WL game, but it’s still good, has alot of items, (the high score crowns can be a challenge too) impressive bosses, hilarious transformations, and showed off the GBA’s capabilities well, (the CD items show off impressive sound quality for GBA back then) so it was a good early game for the system.

Hitting those end-of-level switches, and trying to make an epic escape was also a nice rush.

I also hear “VB Wario Land” for Virtual Boy is considered the best VB game, despte that system being poorly received.
(Despite the name, it’s not s remake, it’s actually a sequel to the original GB game predating WL2 even. In fact, it’s the only sequel that features the classic hat power-ups, and such.)

The Wario Land games were great, they need more love.

“Wario Land 3” feels like it should’ve come before “Wario Land 2” though, because in #3 he doesn’t start with all his abilities, but gets them as the game progresses from some of the treasures/items he finds, kinda like Metroid.
(Fun fact: Wario & Samus were designed by the same guy, Hiroji Kiyotake.)

So many classics. I could only experience a certain amount of them since before a terrible tragedy struck my life in 2003.

But other classics that are worth adding include Generation 3 of Pokémon and of course Mother 3.

(“Final Fight One” was pretty good though, better then the SNES port.)
I love the GBA too, but sadly I had the inferior first version, with no backlight. Though, I liked it’s horizontal shape admittedly.

Among my favorites, (besides the ones you mention) are Wario Land 4, Mario VS DK, Harvest Moon, Metroid Zero Mission, Metroid Fusion, Wario Ware, Pac Man Collection, and Game & Watch Gallery 4.

Ahh the GBA SP. Good times I had with games like the Sonic Advance Trilogy, the Castlevania GBA Trilogy, the Mega Man Battle Network games, the Mega Man Zero set, Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2-4, and even ports of NES and SNES games(Not all ports were great. Some like Sonic 1 and Ultimate MK3 were horrible)
