I know I’m like 10 months late but I’m not particular invested in MLP either.

It’s something I tried on a whim back when it was all the rage and I just thought it was a cute cartoon, watched the 4 seasons that were currently out at the time then just fell out of it, in 2019 I watched the rest of the show through Netflix for pretty much the same reasons, it’s a cute comforting anti-depressant.

I genuinely feel like the people that act like this show is super deep and intelligent are just people that are ashamed that they were into the show and wanted to make it sound like it was better and more respectable than it really was. Honestly I think bronies in general would’ve been respected more if they just admitted they only liked it because of the vibrant colors, cute character designs and overall wholesomeness of the show instead of pretending it’s something it wasn’t.

I’m sure there’s some out there that are genuinely deeply invested in the lore and characters but I feel like those are the exceptions and not the rule because no matter how you slice it MLP is as deep as a puddle. Is there anything wrong with that? No, but you shouldn’t disingenuously praise the show just so that you feel better about enjoying it. Who gives a shit what others think anyways? If it makes you happy then take that happiness, it’s not hurting anyone and to hell with anyone who wants to take that away from you.

And there’s nothing ‘ironic’ about the Weaver’s skill. The man’s a god at making art in the ‘MSPaint shit-scribble’ style. Hell, he’s the only reason I ever came here! I’ve never watched a single episode of your pastel pony show, I just got bored waiting for him to make more Zootopia stuff and went looking for more of his work. I kept hanging around after seeing everything Weaver-related here because I found this whole world you people made for yourselves out of a cartoon show for little girls interesting. I feel like an anthropologist who’s been accepted into a native tribe.
