Wait a minute. So you’re talking about the G1 episode “The Insecticon Syndrome”. Right? Because in this episode, you’re talking about that Shrapnel explodes into a million pieces when Spike tried to stopped his over-charged frame from exploding with the antidote and then he was repaired be one of Shrapnel’s two Insecticon henchmen Bombshell when he uses a special shell. Seriously, every single episode throughout the G1 cartoon did not feature any Transformers or any other characters die. With the exception of the episodes “A Plague of Insecticons”, “A Prime Problem”, “Desertion of the Dinobots, Part 2”, “Prime Target”, “Quest for Survival” “The Search for Alpha Trion”, “The Key to Vector Sigma, Part 2” “Revenge of Bruticus” “War Dawn” “Five Faces of Darkness, Parts 3 and 4”, “Chaos”, “Dark Awakening”, “Call of the Primitives”, and even the movie where they killed off a majority of fan-favorite/most popular Autobots and Decepticons introduced in the beginning of the cartoon including Optimus Prime before he was resurrected at the end of season three. And as a YouTuber name RodimusPrimal said, being able to take a lot of damage sometimes to the point of being disassembled by losing your head or your limbs doesn’t always mean that a Transformer has been killed. He also said that Transformers have a life-saving function known as stasis lock which is not something called until the Beast Wars continuity. Think of it as a Cybertronian equivalent of a coma. If a Transformer is heavily damaged and their spark chambers or laser cores are not compromised, they will shut down to a point in which they will only us enough Energon to keep them alive or functioning. When Shrapnel was blown up into a million pieces before being reassembled back together again by Bombshell, he most likely when into stasis lock. Think back in other Transformers episodes. In the “More than Meets the Eye” pilot, the original Autobots and Decepticons from 1984 and possibly the 1985 Autobots and Decepticons (with the exception of Astrotrain, Cosmos, and Omega Supreme) have went into stasis lock after crash landing on Earh for four millions before being reawaken, reactivated, and repaired by Teletraan I in 1984 and possibly later in 1985 because of the unknown whereabouts of the 1985 Autobots and Decepticons with no real explanation as to where they came from. In “City of Steel”, Optimus was put into stasis lock by Megatron who uses his motor relay which causes Transformers to be powerless and immobile and was disassembled by Hook before being put back together again by Spike, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Hound and Mirage. In “Five Faces of Darkness, Part 2”, when RodimusnPrime thinks he’s dying, his life force disappears and it’s going on a very trippy journey through the Matrix of Leadership meaning that he eventually went into stasis lock. No wonder why Rodimus could fake his death. In “Five Faces of Darkness, Part 3”, Springer was disassembled by a mobile garbage disposal unit on the planet Goo Number 8739-B and was later reassembled back together by Wreck-Gar and the Junkions in Part 4 where Rodimus went into stasis lock again. And finally, Ultra Magnus had plot armor strong enough to allow him to live. So, in the movie, when Ultra Magnus was being blown up by Scourge and the Sweeps after he tried and failed to use the power of the Matrix to defeat Galvatron and his minions on Junkion, he most likely when went into stasis lock. This gave the Junkions time to repair him even though it would seem his wounds were fatal or not. Also, in an early script of the film, Galvatron shot Ultra Magnus point blank which causes him to be blown apart. Also, I made an extended edition of the film and this script of mine features when Scourge and the Sweeps starts shooting and blasting at Ultra Magnus, Galvatron at the same time transforms into cannon mode and starts shooting at Ultra Magnus point blank presumably killing him before he transforms back into robot mode and catches the Matrix. Also, during production of the film, Ultra Magnus was originally gonna be disassembled by being quartered by Scourge and the Sweeps. However, the makers of the film discovered that being quartered was deemed too gruesome and violent for younger audiences despite the violence seen throughout the film. And they altered the scene by having Magnus being blown up instead and have Leonard Nimoy, the voice of Galvatron, re-record his lines by replacing the word “quarter” with “terminate”.

Did Shrapnel survived the explosion? He along with the two other Insecticons died in the Transformers movie and their remains were reformatted into new Decepticon beings created by Unicron. Despite their toys are still active on toy shelves in 1986. And the Insecticons appearing in Starscream’s coronation, on planet Junk, and throughout Five Faces of Darkness were considered animation/continuity errors. I would agree that the Insecticons present throughout the rest of the film and in the season 3 premiere were just left-over clones or the Insectron Clone Army but in original Insecticons colors. And two Shrapnels appearing in a footage of “Five Faces of Darkness - Part 5” was also an animation error too. And the second Shrapnel was replaced with Soundwave later on a few seconds later.

Honestly when I first saw this I thought it made since like I was surprised no one thought of a plague of Insecticons at Sweet Apple Acres though I’m starting to feel this book should probably have a few more issues.

Expert in useless facts
So while the other ponies have the opportunity to team up with autobots, Applejack has to face the Insecticons with only the help of his family. Yep, totally fair.
