Age and physical growth are two different things. After all, you don’t see an 10year old shooting up 2-3 feet by the time they’re 12 do ya? No, it takes them at least until their 16-18 to grow even an inch or two more.
Hell, human infants don’t start showing any major height difference until their 3-4 years old.
And who the hell knows when a pony begins growing or has a growth spurt in this universe since ponies “come of age” when they get their cutiemarks but are still considered foals for at least another 3-4yrs.

And yet somehow the Cake twins are still babies despite being born in season 2. I’m not sure how that works, but apparently the passage of time doesn’t mean that ponies get any older.

I’m pretty sure Amy only had to be aged up because she was canonically redesigned to fill the role of Tiara Boobowski…
That was only in Archie Sonic canon where Amy was magically aged up (and even then that was prereboot Archie Sonic).
