the FACT is SoarinDash is one of the most popular ships of all time and most certainly of the mane 6 straight ships, and the numbers dont lie and correlate with how often they’ve been together.
we all get it… you are a hater of SoarinDash, but you trying to equate to being the same thing as say Rarity x Hayseed Turnip Truck is just downright silly and dumb.

A crack ship is simply a pairing that’s bizarre or humorous and canonically unlikely. Look it up sometime.

They were in several episodes together … and what? Did they hang out? Did they have a meaningful conversation?
In the actual show I mean, you know, the canon stuff? Because there’s a limit to how often a comics series for side stories can contradict or twist show canon until people stop taking that content at face value. From what I’ve seen most have stopped using the words IDW and canon in the same sentence years ago and for good reason.
So the trolls at IDW released a ship fic, that explains a lot of the nonsense I’ve read over the years.
And I guess I did make an incorrect statement. I just remembered one instance where those two did have something resembling a conversation. When they shared a room in the hospital. He told her nopony visited him because he’s to busy to make friends … so smooth ^^ only, she was so smitten she flat out ignored him. Guess you’re right, they work together, that’s literally the extent of their relationship. He prioritizes eating pie over talking to her, she is more interested in his spot on the team than his health let alone his private life.
Anyway, there’s something about your avatar that’s telling me further discussion of this topic is going to be pointless.
Ship them as long and hard as you want, enjoy your head canon, but pls treat it as such and don’t force it onto others.

you obviously dont know what crack ships are…….they are between two individuals whom have either never met or have had only briefly interacted for a few seconds.

Dash and Soarin have been in several episodes together and they LITERALLY work together. and they had an entire comic issue together that tony made as shippy as possible without hasbro stepping in.

Looks like Rarity doesn’t like being somepony’s plan-b.
The image is nice and I love the mix of “Yeah, I am the best possible catch and you know it”-look and that hint of girlish shyness on Dash’s face.
The ship however has irritated me for over a decade. Just recently I saw posts from people asking if the finale meant that SoarinDash ‘wasn’t canon after all’. ??? I mean, ppl can ship whichever characters they want, but what show have these guys been watching? I don’t think these two had a single proper interaction in the entire show, zero dialogue, and the only thing we know about this pairing is that Soarin`is far more interested in apple pie than Dash.
So yeah, cute scene, well drawn, but crack ship territory.

It was a little more than just that. The specific wording of Dash’s complaint made sound like they were living together and the final scene, with Dash hovering behind AJ and patting her head, doubled down on that couple image pretty hard.
They dropped enough hints throughout the series about the reason for/nature of their rivalry.
They also made it pretty clear that they considered LyraBon a mistake after the amount of drama those homophobic soccer moms had created and it was clear there wouldn’t be any more canon gay couples after that. So subtext is a bit more important in the later seasons than it would’ve been otherwise. Or visual clues in case of the finale.
E.g. in the collages at the end every solo character without a canon mate is looking straight ahead or into the camera … except for Soarin, who’s eyes are locked on Spitfire. They added a hallway chat with vice principal mage boy, but right after that, in the courtyard, he moves to one side, Starlight and Trixie are walking together in the opposite direction and they’re next to each other in the following collage as well while sunburst is solo.
They threw in some fodder for most major ships, but the writer’s intended pairings are made quite obvious, none of them a surprise really.
(can’t remember any obvious SoarinFire in the show, but I got the impression that a lot of Wonderbolt content didn’t make the final cut … still, even the mere concept makes more sense than SoarinDash or RariJack. And I do like RariJack, some of the best ship fics I’ve read were RariJack fics. They’re so utterly incompatible the drama practically writes itself, which makes the romantic bits even sweeter. There’s just zero romantic subtext in the actual show to support the idea.)

Rainbow Dash is heterosexual now, out of all the ponies, especially Rainbow Maned, while Rarity and Applejack doing confused lesbian horse noises.

I don’t think that leaked script be real,Those things can never be corroborated. And the hints from the mobile game aren’t very clear neither, they only mention the positive aspects that different characters got from their different friendships. However, I also understand your frustration and disappointment; I felt that way the first days I saw that scene for the first time. However I understood that unlike other series, there was never an explicit declaration of their love therefore their relationship still can’t be differentiated from a romance or a friendship. But I also felt a little disappointed in season 9 but the series is over. So we don’t have to worry about that continuing.

Not just because of that. I in a whole obovsem 9 season. But if we go back to the topic of RD and AJ. We were told that we left everything to our imagination, but! Mike Vogel places a collage where the persnadi gays or bi are represented, the game for mobile hints at these relationships, even in the leaked scripts it is written what they meant. I feel cheated. And it’s not even about the relationship of the characters. Season 9 itself is full of disappointments. And all the answers of the authors are reduced to the banal “We don’t think about it, we just did our job” from this, you might think that they are already very important series.

Do you say it because Rainbow Dash and Applejack arrived together?It’s just a bit of fanservice but it really doesn’t imply anything if you think about it. It was only mentioned that Applejack never accepts Rainbow Dash’s help. In addition, of all couples, this is the least likely due to the fact that their entire relationship is based on competition and rivalry. Therefore, despite that, the intention of maintaining all relationships in the interpretation of the viewer continues.

I hope so, too. I like both shows. But honestly, after the season 9 finale, I feel cheated. We are told that we have been left to interpret the relationships of the main characters, but it seems that this is not the case.

I still like EG and MLP and mlp alike. But I insist, I am glad that all couples have remained in the imagination and interpretation of the viewer instead of being declared canon.

I might be rude. But after season 8-9, I don’t trust Jim or any other person working on the show. For me, they have lost all trust and respect. To my surprise the EG Director was more competent than the MLP authors

We could say that the love between Applejack and Rarity is implicit in the form of subtext. Jim Miller was respectful to all ships by not defining any mane six’s relationship.

There are so many things in this picture that we wanted to see but they don’t exist. Romantic relationships with Soarin and Dashi, love between Rarity and AJ, and most importantly SNOW in winter!
