Twilight’s family, Fancy pants, Prince BlueBlood, Fluer
I thought those were mostly unicorns? (Rarity, Twilight’s family, Fancy pants, Prince BlueBlood, Fluer, ect.) I always asssumed the “mud ponies” of Ponyville and such were the more “lower class” ones.
The only upper class earth ponies I can think of are Octavia Melody, and Sapphire Shores.
Earth Ponies are still treated entirely as the lowest rung on Equestrias’ societal ladder
Almost every wealthy Pony and business owner outside of Canterlot, almost every political leader under the Alicorns, and most of the nationally famous Ponies we’ve seen have been Earth Ponies.
No need to respond with a book report

@Beau Skunky
Not necessarily is this a “Bad Mother” story, it would be more-like “Bad Fortuneteller” that plays around with the idea of Celestia’s many decisions she made throughout the series in-accordance with her trying to follow Prophecies instead of making Choices. Just look at her track-record so far when it came to her following Prophecies: Celestias’ decision to follow one such prophecy led to her own sister being ostracized by the kingdom to the point where she had felt un-loved; this led to Luna trying to lash out against everyone in a bid for attention to try and acknowledge her which Celestia completely misread as her going into evil; leading her to proclaim Luna as Nightmare Moon and to create an entirely avoidable prophecy because of her decision… and that it alone caused so much heartbreak and tragedy not just for Celestia but for the world at large. In banishing Luna for 1000 years, it left Celestia in an emotionally-compromised state; one that the Nobility had took full-advantage of when Celestia had the Seat of Power moved to Canterlot from her home in the Everfree.
Just because the Ponies had learnt the importance of tryijg to live together doesn’t mean for a second that not all of them consider the others to be entirely equal (Earth Ponies are still treated entirely as the lowest rung on Equestrias’ societal ladder, despite no longer being slaves to the Pegasi and Unicorns), and that there are even those within the highest-levels that hold onto their views (Chancellor Neighsay easily comes to mind). What makes you think that when Celestia decided to move to Canterlot that the less-than-savory elements of her own Court wouldn’t try to work behind her back to transform Equestria into their anncestral image of Unicornia? In order to accomplish those ends, these corrupt nobles would do what many of them had already done with Luna by spreading lies and slander; not towards Celestia, but to Celestia’s friends and allies in their neighboring nations, slowly but surely leading to them cutting off ties with Equestria by finding a way to get between them and Celestia and painting lies that neither side even wanted to talk with them again. There is already substantial evidence to back this up: look at how the other nations ended up suffering despite how close their leaders were with Celestia only for her to cut all ties with them 1000 years ago, and how those nations ended up either suffering economically (Griffinstone), being invaded by a hostile power (Mount Aris), or both at the same time (Abyssinia) once Celestia had moved to Canterlot. Beyond this, these corrupt Nobles had also weaseled their influence into other branches to try and spread their ideals throughout the larger populace in a bid to try and prevent commoners and future generations from attempting to forge their own alliances with the other nations against the wishes of the Nobles; who only sought to transform Equestria into an isolationist country in order to maintain their invisible grip over Celestia (hence why the E.E.A. has such radicalized views when it comes to foreign relations). The only reason why this carried on for as long as it had was because Celestia was completely on her own without an equal to learn how her world was even working, and those that would have been considered an equal at some point in the last 1000 years would have to have been planted into that role by the Nobility to try and control what Celestia sees. In many ways this can be seen as the Nobility trying to create their own “Long Feng”, a supposedly false and toxic friend that only sees their friendship with Celestia as a means to try and get an advantage over her decision-making.
All of THAT happened because Celestia decided to follow one prophecy.
On a smaller-scale and on the opposite side of the spectrum is her following the prophecy that foretold her that Tirek had managed to escape from Tartarus, she tried to place all of her efforts into stopping Tirek from gaining conttol over Alicorn Magic that she made terrible decisions such as sending Discord to try and stop Tirek: who just manipulated Discord to join with him by pointing out how the Ponies weren’t even friends with him entirely (a flaw that Celestia had made when she set Fluttershy to become Discords’ friend when it should have been both Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie due to how Fluttershy could help rein in his chaotic tendancies, while Pinkie could help to encourage Discord to open up around others), and because of this it led to their fallback plan of giving all of their Magic to Twilight and sending her into hiding since Tirek doesn’t know that there is a 4th Alicorn Princess… which would never have even worked because while Tirek doesn’t know that Twilight exists, DISCORD KNOWS! And as shown once Tirek and Discord take control over Canterlot, Discord wastes absolutely no time in spilling the beans on Twilights’ existence once he is assured that Tirek won’t just up and betray him: and ends up having Twilights’ friends and her son being taken hostage and used as leverage against her into handing over the Alicorn Magic to Tirek. And if it wasn’t for their connection with the Tree of Harmony, than Tirek would have easily won then-and-there.
We have seen the Long-Term and the Short-Term consequences of Celestia trying to adhere to Prophecies, and as we’ve read in How I Lost My Mother, we now know what happens when she tries to go with her gut-feeling instead of taking careful consideration of all options presented to her; which transformed the prophecy involving Cozy Glow going into evil if her heart was pained by Magic as a Self-Fulfilling prophecy by ripping away not her Daughters’ magic; but by erasing all traces of her existence from her friends, and denying her access to their family; even when Cozy had posed some sound and logical arguments to try and talk her mother out of taking this extreme option in the first place without considering any potential consequences for her actions or other ways that the prophecy can be construed.
Thematically, a story like this would be a poetic way for the story of Friendship is Magic to end on: with Twilight beginning her journey by following Celestias’ advice in defeating Nightmare Moon and inevitably freeing Celestia’s Sister, and ending it with her rejecting Celestias’ advice to understanding Cozy Glow and ultimately saving Celestia’s Daughter.
Plus it would be a bit odd if cadence’s daughter was an alicorn but not celestia’s.
Also bad parents is overdone in cartoons in general

Hm… Not sure I like that headcanon, plus I get tired of the “Celestia is a bad Mother” cliché, and such.
I hold to the notion that Cozy Glow is actually Princess Celestias’ Daughter

Really? I didn’t see it personally.
@ABronyAccount
Perhaps, but it was pretty subtle, in fact some fans were still shocked by it, or assume the twist wasn’t originally planned oddly.
Though, I think he was joking as he made similar remarks about other “cute” characters.
@ABronyAccount
Actually the first we heard of her was in the synopsis for the finale that said she had a plot to take over the school
They weren’t joking. There were signs that she wasn’t what she appeared right from the start, subtle but there. Her whole “too cute” design is part of it, as is the way she kind of drops hints during her “lessons” from the CMC, and the way Starlight called out her deviousness.

Let her in?
Yowie wowie.

Be fair. She’s been through heck and back.
It’s super effective!
