For me it’s because times got tough and my dad just thought that blowing money on ammunition for silly fun out in the woods would be a bad idea.
As a grown man now, I agree with him. The hot water heater ended up croaking, then the old furnace not long after that. Sure, going shooting was fun, but real life came knocking at the door and we needed the money for that =P .

It was also the last time I went shooting a gun. There’s no specific reason why I haven’t shot a gun recently. We don’t have one at the house, so that’s a big one.
The paint bucket was the last time I went out shooting with dad. The very first thing I shot was a little .22 target pistol. Small, almost no recoil whatsoever, and stupid accurate (which was good, because at 11-years-old my aim obviously sucked x3).
Standard target posters that time though, nothing amazing. He was just trying to see if I’d enjoy the hobby. Every time after that we’d bring some more fun things to shoot at.
“BUT…I want my underwear back and you can’t keep trying to clone me using hair samples from my hairbrush. I know you’re getting better at it, but there’s a hell of a learning curve and I’ve got eight moderately-deformed homunculi Anons running my errands as it is, and that’s just too many. At least Igor is a good cook. No way am I letting him near a power saw again, though…
“Yeah, but he grew back the arm, right?”
“Yes…yes he did. But that’s not the point! Besides, Humans don’t normally have arms growing from their foreheads. Especially not that MANY.”
“Hmmmph…fine.”
“AND NO TELEPORTING MARES TO A HELL DIMENSION JUST FOR LOOKING AT ME!”

She’s a nerd though. She’d have to do the slow meticulous way. Though I think bump keys don’t work on all locks, while a pick can be used on anything provided the picker is skilled enough. I think too locks would have to be a lot trickier in a world where 1/3 of the populace basically had psychic powers too :D
@Einsman
Who would win, your bumpkeys, or this one strong springy-boi?
Bumpkeys are so easy to completely nullify these days it’s not funny. Variable spring tension or different length driver pins are the two accepted methods.
