pinkie just kinda… showed up one day with a new kid? of course everyones immediate reaction was to be like “hello?? where did you just GET a kid??” her response to that was simply… that she found him. just. on a stroll through the woods one day. found a kid. and he’s hers now! dont worry about ittttt! his full name is brown butter vanilla bean popcorn chocolate cupcake but you can just call him vanilla (or bean!). pinkie calls him cupcake at home, though. if you’re wondering WHAT he is, don’t worry - so is everypony else! twilight goes on a desperate information hunt through every book she can find, prompting others like sunburst and moondancer to do so as well, but none of them can find anything about a creature that looks like vanilla. that is until the day when sombra happens to walk in on all of this and asks “how did the pink horse acquire a peryton?”
 
he doesnt feel any shame towards being a strange mostly-unidentified creature, though. pinkie instilled a high sense of self-esteem in him from a young age. raising him as a single mother wasn’t as tough as it sounds considering he grew up in sugarcube corner with the cakes to take up parenting at times. its as if he had three parents instead of only one. he of course considers pumpkin and pound cake his siblings as well.
 
oh, also… don’t mind the fact that he looks a lot like pinkie. no one else can believe it, either.
